Can you give me the exact make and model of the unit? Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling it? Once I have more information I can assist you further.
Thank you,

Flipshare does not conect to internet

Tony, we are recently running into the same issue. If you are only looking to use Flipshare to save and/or compress your videos, we found that you can do the following after clicking through the error messages:
Use the top menu and select Share -> Online -> Others ...

You can then upload this compressed video to other sharing sites.

FlipVideo software - FlipShare

I’ve had my Flip Video Pure Digital since the summer of 2007. The only problem I’ve ever had with it was the software, both the original as well as the upgrades. The current upgrade crashed within the first two minutes every time I opened it. I was never able to process a single video with it. Like you, I became extremely frustrated and sent an email to customer service. Expecting at least a 24 hour delay in response, I started combing the Internet looking for other options. In short, on the first day I received three very pleasant and timely responses from Flip Video’s support staff, but nothing worked; they finally offered to call me on the phone. By then, however, I had come up with a solution that works great for me. I use Win Vista, so don’t know how this would work on other os’s. (1) Format your camera (save all videos on it before formatting because EVERYTHING disappears from the drive). (2) Shoot your video. (3) Re-connect your camera to your computer. (4) A pop up message asks you if you want to import the videos; click yes. After importing my videos, I close that program and open up my solvergmm (avi trimmer freeware: and cut the front and back edges of the video. I can then save the video to the directory of my choice or watch it from that program. It’s extremely simple and gives me pretty much everything that the FlipShare software aspired to give me. Also, when I delete the videos from the camera I get back my complete 60 minutes instead of the time decay one gets with Flip Video’s software. Hope this helps others – it made my day!

Flipshare has stopped working a problem caused the program to stop working correct;y Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available. Help, I think Divx program killed me...

You can restore your computer to a time before this happened with System Restore.Go to Start, Help and Support, Undo changes to your computer with System Restore.
Alternatively if you believe it was the divx install then de-install divx, de-install flipshare, re boot and re install flipshare, you can d/l the latest version here

When I plug my FlipShare into my computer USB port, the unit doesn't charge up. What do I do to get the battery charged up?

You may have to RESET. Go to YouTube and type in flipvideo. There are videos from people with similar problems.

Another way to reset is to hold down the on/off switch for 10 seconds. You won't loose videos on the camera, and it will likely turn back on (or off) and you can try charging it again.

Flipshare not installing, minoHD not even registering when I plug it into my laptop

Try restarting your computer then plug it back in. The minoHD is touchy, if its not inserted all the way in or kinda sideways it wont show its plugged in

Flipshare won't install!!!

The failure appears to be occurring because the installation script cannot obtain Scripting.FileSystemObject. This is most likely due to registrations belonging to your Windows ScrRun.dll being missing from your machine - and the problem may be specific to your machine configuration.

Click on the orb/start menu and type in the search box regsvr32.exe scrrun.dll

If the fix is successful
try running the install again.

Flip share video application unexpectedly quits

Solved - I had the same problem.

The original "Flip Video For PC" software that came preinstalled on my Flip worked fine. But after being nagged to "upgrade" to FlipShare, I experienced the same crash problem mentioned here. Even worse, the FlipShare installation nuked the original program files from the Flip!

In my case, I think my computer's processor did not meet the minimum system requirements of the newer FlipShare software. The original "Flip Video For PC" software requires a 2Ghz P4 or higher; the FlipShare software says it requires a dual-core 4Ghz or higher. So when the FlipShare software tries to load the module on an under-powered processor, it just crashes. Bad design.

I bet that most of the people posting this same problem here have processors that are "borderline".

Anyway, here's how to get the original Flip Video software back and re-install it on your computer:

Disclaimer: I assume no responsibility if you screw up your Flip or lose your videos. I can only tell you this method worked for me.

1) Use Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs to uninstall FlipShare and 3vix.

2) Download "Flip Video For PC" v3.7 from here:

3) Follow the written instructions here for formatting your Flip and reinstalling the software:

Important: this guy tells you how to back up any existing videos on your Flip BEFORE you format it.

After formatting, I had some initial trouble with the installation not finding my (empty) Flip. Here's a workaround: the installation creates a folder called "FlipVideo Updater Support Files", and within that a subfolder called "files_to_install". Copy the entire contents of that subfolder to the root of your Flip. Re-run the installation and it should now be recognized.

4) Bonus: once you've got the old software reinstalled and working, you may want to disable the annoying "Upgrade To FlipShare" nag screen that bugs you every time you run the software. Simply browse your Flip and delete the following file:

[drive letter]\System\VIEWER\PD\checkForUpdate.txt

No more nag screen!

I hope this info is helpful to those who experienced the same problem. Flip tech support people are absolutely clueless.
