The old version of Adobe Flash Player has to be deleted, before the new version can be installed.
This has to be done manually, by you.
The new version does not automatically delete the old version.
It's a simple task, you download, and install the Adobe Flash Player Uninstall Tool, from Adobe.com.
After you have downloaded the tool, and installed, it will automatically delete the old version.
Restart your computer. After Windows has loaded again, go to the Adobe Flash Player download site, and then download, and install the newest version of Adobe Flash Player.
Adobe Support > Adobe Flash Player Uninstall Tool download page,
On this page look to the Right of number 1, and left-click on the blue -
A small window will come up. Click on Save.
Another small window will come up. LOOK at the heading at the top of the window.
This is where the file will download to.
Where the file may go;
It may go to your My Documents folder,
(Start > double-click on My Documents)
It may go to a sub-folder within My Documents called Downloads.
(Start>double-click on My Documents>double-click on Downloads)
It may go to your desktop screen.
When you see the file name, double-click right on it.
Follow the easy instructions.
After it is finished, you may be asked if you wish to restart your computer.
Yes, click on OK.
If you are not asked, close all windows, go back to your desktop screen.
Click on Start > Turn Off Computer > Restart.
After Windows has fully loaded again, get on the internet, and download the newest version of Adobe Flash Player.

This will ask you a file to download, then click on Download-> Run.
then restart your computer.

First you have to uninstall the old Adobe Flash Player, to download the new version. When you install the new version, it doesn't automatically uninstall the old version.
This is the download page for the Adobe Flash Player Uninstaller,
Left-click on the blue - uninstall_flash_player.exe
for a computer that has Windows.
[Windows: uninstall_flash_player.exe (205KB) (updated 02/11/2010)
After you have followed the instructions, and are finished uninstalling the old version, then install the new version,
Left-click on the - Get the latest version - in blue, to the right of the white f, in the red square.
If you cannot download, check your anti-virus security settings.
