Question about Sony Playstation 3 (PS3) Console
I've been having some problem while playing blu ray movies with my ps3 console. Everything looks fine at the menu screen but once the movie starts, i'm starting to see blue line (somewhat like ghost shadow) all over the TV screens and it wouldn't go away. I tried to play different movie and they're all the same. I haven't try to play any game to test it out yet but this is really bothering me. Are there anything I can do to resolve this issue? Is it a firmware version issue? Plesae help.
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

You most likely have the updated drivers. You may have to go and change a setting. I found an answer on the PS3 website that may be of some use to you. I hope this helps you: http://boardsus.playstation.com/playstation/board/message?board.id=ps3&message.id=1662191 From the site: "go to bd/dvd setting and set the "108024hz" option off"

SOURCE: PS3 laser Problem
It sounds like you bought a defective laser or it is the chip on your "sister board". There is a chip on the circuit board thats on the bottom of the Blu-Ray drive and it has a silver rectangle on it. Some say that that chip is going bad on some machines. I have repaird 60+ PS3's this year and I haven't had this happen to me yet though. I would suggest trying another laser, then if that doesn't work try a "sister board" from the same model of PS3. I'm still not possitive if that is a possible solution though. The "sister board" is supposedly keyed to only work with the mother board it came with. Well, I hope this helps. Good luck!!

You can back up ANYTHING you wish to keep via the backup utility what I'm about to tell you to do will essentially erase your harddrive. After backing up any data you wish to keep, restore your PS3 system and to a FULL ( not quick ) format of your harddrive ( this will probably take a couple of hours ). After that, if it still doesn't work call SONY.
Hope that helps..........
