Question about Electronics - Others

KUSBDTE Someone left a Kingston KUSBDTE DataTraveler Elite at my house and they are not going to come back to get it. I don't care about what data is on it but I was wondering if there's a way I can format it so that I can use it for myself. Right now my computer thinks it's a CD drive and that it's write protected. Thanks

Uh Oh. This one is going to be tough. Apperently this is built for security. So formatting it is going to be tough. IS there a switch on it? If there is, then switch it off. Then you should have access to the contents. If not, then I won't be able to help you. Sorry.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Your computer may need drivers installed for your flash drive. Visit your USB drive manufacturer's website, find the "Support" page, and download the drivers for your specific drive. Be sure to know what version of your operating system you are running as it may be necessary to ensure you get compatible drivers. Install the drivers and try again.

How to get my data back from Kingston Data Traveler 2.0? it asks me to format.

People often feel panic when I see this. If I format the drive, will I lose all my data? If not, how could I get access to my files?

My take is that you may have to format the drive and then use recovery software to recover your files.

Here's some information about file recovery, think you need to take a look, very useful

I have problm with my kingston flash drive

Hi, what's wrong with your flash drive? The most common thing is data loss. If it is so, you can try 4Card Recvoery to recover your files on your flash drive.

Maybe that is acting as a boot drive. If you do not need it as a boot drive, consider formatting the drive.

I'm having kingston datatraveler 120 4gb .It is

Check the USB on another PC and if this is not detected on any PC then the memory is corrupt.
In such a case there is not much unless the dealerships helps for a replacement.

My ped drive kingston datatraveller 4gb doesnot work in win98

I think you will find that the card works fine but your computer doesnt recognise the card reader properly. Windows 98 does not properly recognise most usb devices but Windows 98SE does although I am not sure if it will recognise usb2 properly.
