Wireless Configuration

I bought `Conceptronic wireless 54Mpbs Access point´ that supports AP client, Repeating and Bridging. How to configure it on my vista window Laptop for it to receive low (free) wifi signal in my vicinity so that i can connect to the internet smoothly.
