Problems setting up Motorolla GM300

I just got a reconditioned GM300 but I seem to have it set up wrong. The channels seem to be programmed correctly as I can transmit to an HT and receive the signal fine. But when I try to receive on the GM300 I hear nothing. I have tried it with the squelch both on and off. When the squelch is on the tx light flashes. The speaker seems fine since the volume of the static with the squelch off is deafening.

Thank you for any help.

Respectfully,
Phil

It is either a programming problem, such as the Rx is not programmed correctly OR your radio needs to be looked at by a technician to determine the issue.

How to faulty find gr500 motorolla repeater when repeater channel is not working

1. Check the power supply to the repeater to ensure it is plugged in and working properly. 2. Check the antenna connections to ensure they are securely connected. 3. Check the coaxial cable connecting the antenna to the repeater to make sure it is free of any damage or degradation. 4. Check the settings on the repeater to ensure it is configured correctly for the channel. 5. Check the radio frequency of the repeater to ensure it is correct for the channel. 6. Check for any interference in the area that may be causing the repeater channel to fail. 7. Check the signal strength of the repeater to make sure it is strong enough to transmit the signal. 8. If possible, try another repeater in the same area to see if it is having the same issue.

My television set is stuck on one channel....the audio changes with the channel but the picture stays blurred on one channel...whats wrong with it?

Lots of possibilities. If you are using the remote, try also using buttons on the TV to change channels. If TV buttons work, the remote is broken or perhaps try changing batteries and cleaning battery contacts on the remote. If neither work, lots of other things to try. You may need to set preselect channels, so your TV thinks there is only one channel out there until you do. If you are on a cable box you just need channel 3 and change channels on the cable box. I can't tell what you mean by "audio changes with the channel" ... if you mean that when you try to advance channels, it increases volume and moving down in channels lowers volume that would be strange -- if you are using a programable remote it might not be set correctly (try another programming code). The "blurred" picture is probably symptomatic of having the set on the wrong channel, and if you could set channel it might clear up ... I'd start with getting channels to change. If you need more help, give the brand and model of TV, say if you are using a remote (original or programable), and what the 'audio changes' comment means in more detail. Probably worst case is that your tuner circuit is fried, but don't assume that without more diagnostic.

Does a motorola gm300 model number m43gmc29c2aa have ctcss or PL TONES capability's?

Yes, it seems to me that the GM300 radios did have tones as programming options. They were programmed by the dealer using radio service software (RSS) when the frequencies and other channel information were entered. Of course, Motorola discontinued the GM300 a long time ago, and they were wide-band radios, so you could not legally transmit with them anymore. However, you could find someone on eBay to program them receive-only with or without CTCSS (PL) tones and then you could simply listen to them.

Hello Guys..how to channelize my 2way Radio Motorola Radius Model

The GM300 is dealer programmable using Motorola proprietary software, a programming cable and radio interface box (rib). (Or on some models a ribless cable). I will continue to look for a user guide pdf. If I locate one I will post it.

Motorola GM300 Question

Check your antenna connections and coax for loose connections or damage. Also check your hand mic. See if the problem disappears if you turn on the radio without the mic attached. The two most common problems with a mobile radio are antenna and mic problems.

If you feel these are in order, it would be wise to have a tech look at the radio.

Accessing External Inputs Settings

you have to use the remote control for the tv not the dvr.
the dvr control likely cannot control the tv inputs programming unless you can program the correct code. and most new lcd panels don't have the correct codes for existing remotes
access using ext on the tv remote.
you may have to go into the menu and tell the tv what the ext is set to ie.. a channel or a input.
