Sounds like there is an issue with the video card settings versus your monitor.

Try the following:

1.) Press F8 on boot and select VGA mode then once into the OS reset the video card options

2.) Try another monitor

3.) If you have video card, swap it out. If you have onboard graphics put a card in

Cheers...please post your results.

Planar PX2710MW frequency out-of-range

After a computer reboot, about 8 out of 10 times the monitor would display a blue "frequency out of range" message. It would take several power off/on cycles for the monitor to finally display Microsoft Windows.

I called Planar tech support. They were super-nice. After about 15 minutes in which I shared my screen with them, the tech suggested I go into thePX2710MW's main menu (i.e. "Button 1") and then click "memory recall".

Problem solved! Wow.

This OSD may appear to inform you that the signal being sent to the display is not within its frequency range. In this case, you would need to check the resolution and refresh rate you have your video card set to, and adjust to be within the range of the display

When i turn it on it says out of range and i have a black screen

Hi, The reason behind the out of range (frequency of monitor) because the video display adapter is trying to set resolution more than what the monitor (screen) is capable of. In this case, try to boot your computer in Safe Mode using F8 function key while starting your computer. Once you are in safe mode, try to decrease the resolution of monitor to the lowest resolution level and apply the settings. Now try to boot computer in normal mode once again, you will get the settings which you have applied in safe mode. Adjust the screen resolution accordingly till the settings work with the monitor (screen).
Cheers!

Monitor displays Msg. frequency out of range, screen is black

Start your computer and press the F8 when the manufacturer's logo screen is showing. This will bring you to the Windows startup menu. Pick "start in VGA mode" and windows will start up with video settings you monitor can handle. Then you can change your video settings so Windows will start normally with your monitor.
