Question about Cameras

1 Answer

Our Cannon pc1354 camera will not connect to our computer to download pictures. It has dowloaded them before but the computer just doesnt seem to realise its plugged in. We have tested the cable and the computer with another camera and it works. Is there a specific setting it needs to be on? Thanks

This happens to everyone...windows updates changes the registry and sometimes our "toys" no longer work. Pros avoid this problem by using a card reader...you should too.

Cannon x100, say don't read camera card, will not export pictures from camer to computer

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

Check for the location where those pictures are being downloaded. Your system/computer might be set at a default location to download all objects.

How can i download pictures from my digital rebel onto my computer (windows xp)?

Here is the CANON website to download the manual for your specific model of Camera. Most of them tuern the options control to the download setting with the camera on and the USB port wire attached to the computer . The windows OS finds the hardware and installes it walking you through the picture download process. I also have a cannon but not the same model.
