Setting it to 5 is what the manufacturer recommends. If you set it to 1 and the frig is still not cold, then you probably have a faulty cold control (thermostat)

Inside the fresh food compartment look for an opening that will allow you to turn the defrost timer clockwise slowly. When you hear it click the refrigerator should go into defrost. If the timer is bad it will need replaced. Let me know. Below is a photo of timer.
Part number 6

Good to see you put your model number down correctly. Do the lights come on inside when you open door? I noticed your refrigerator has a control board inside the fresh food section behind the control panel I want you to unplug the refrigerator and examine that board for burn marks or loose solder connections on both Sides. Then let me know what you find. Thanks, Sea breeze My email is firstname.lastname@example.org Web Site http://servicepartstec.blogspot.com/ Part Number for Control board is 8201528

I think the Adaptive Defrost Control may be your problem part number 12566102 You may find it inside the fresh food compartment and behind the controls where you adjust the tempertaures. I will return with photos and links, Sea Breeze
