Yes, it has two built in speakers. However there are complaints that it offers very low volume and bass.

I am not sure what your problem is, if you have a specific issue you need to tell us about it so we can give you suggestions. Problem with the Motherboard is extremely generic and doesn't give me much to go on.

My DVI has no signal but my VGA does! what do i do? Please help me!!!

Your HP2009M monitor supports (3) methods of accepting signals from a computer. They are: 1) VGA, 2) DVI and, 3) HDMI.

You would connect the computer to the monitor using one connection only. Generally the VGA is the least desirable as it is an analog signal. The DVI and HDMI method provide digital paths into the monitor and often perform better. Your computer may only offer 1 or 2 connection choices, so you'll have to choose a cable type that is supported by both the computer and the monitor. The HDMI choice will pass audio signals to the the speakers in the monitor without needing to run a second cable between the stereo audio jack of the computer and the audio input jack of the monitor (located next to the HDMI jack) or to a set of external speakers (unless of course you prefer the external speakers).

The message you're seeing is normal. Once the monitor is connected to your computer, there will only be one active selection; VGA, DVI or HDMI. Since you're using the analog VGA jacks and cable, it is expected that you'll see a message that there is no signal present on the DVI (and HDMI) inputs when attempting to view signals on other inputs.

I hope this helps and good luck! Please rate my reply, thank you.

It seems you have a manufacturer's damage product. I would suggest replacing under warranty if you still have it.

I have the hp2009m monitor and would like to be able to use headphones as we have a tv and the computer in the same room.is it possable

1. Your PC sound card has an input for a headphone . If your desktop is mounted on the floor then you will need an extension for the headphones/ found at the local Radio shack for about 6.00 dollars.
If you have a recent production of a PC cabinet there should be an input for your headphones.
2. Your desktop speaker if updated you should have a headphone jack there also to input a headphone set.
3check your user manual for this.

My hp2009m monitor goes into sleep mode

Monitors are programmed to go to sleep when there is no input. If you shut it down on the other "tower" also it will do the same. You need to physically hit the power button on the monitor to actually shut it off.

check if the external speakers u plugged in came with an internal amplifier, if not then u will have to use an external amplifier to get max output from your external speakers.
