Thank you for the advice. Sadly, it did not work. I don't have the + and - for volume, only the touch pad slide it up and down thing. The problem seems to be with the driver, but I don't really understand what that means. The driver? Pleeeeeeeeease help (and Creative were no help at all)...

Thank you again for the advice. Please don't give up. Windows could not find a driver for my device. Also, I did not access the device manager through printers and other hardware as that was not an option, but I did get to the device manager. I do have XP. Any other suggestions?

Same problem but, on my 4gig zen there is not a volume + button. Running vista home premium [that might be it right there] Any ideas?

Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.

    Oh, the driver:

Make sure you are connected to the internet

Go to Start --> Control Panel --> Printers and Other Hardware --> System -- > Hardware --> Device Manager --> Find the Mp3 player, right click on it, and click Update Driver

I am assuming you have Windows XP

Try the process again with the installation Cd inserted - tell it to search from a location, and make the cd-rom drive the location.

Creative zen sleek photo not recognized by win xp

I got my Creative Zen Sleek Photo from a friend and everything I did wouldn't let Windows recognize it, but then I got it to work almost magically.

1. Make sure you have the proper drivers installed for it that come with the CD. If you don't have the CD, you can download the ISO here.
http://wp.randyr.net/windows-xp/creative-zen-sleek-photo.html

2. Reboot. When it comes back up, plug the cable into your computer, then into your Sleek. The software should sync up. For some reason, my Zen wasn't being recognized from the usb port on my computer tower, but I plugged it into my monitor's USB port and then it worked. Try that, if none of that works, then it may be a problem with your computer not knowing which driver to assign to your Zen, and if so, try the steps below.

----

1. Plug your Sleek to your computer.
2. Open up Windows' Device manager (right-click on "My Computer" and select "Properties". Go to the "Hardware" tab, then click "Device Manager").
3. Locate the entry for "Creative Zen Sleek" in your device list. It should appear either under "Sound, video, and game controllers" or under "USB Devices". Once you locate the entry, uninstall it.
4. Unplug your Sleek and wait a few seconds.
5. Plug your Sleek back in and allow the "new Hardware Wizard" to identify and install the drivers for it.

Vision M not recognized

I'm having the exact same problem. My zen is 'charging' but isn't detected anywhere on my pc and I'd leave it charging for days but nothing happens. I've tried different usb ports, reinstalling the software several times but nothing. I recently reinstalled Windows and with my new pc my Zen cannot work on it for some reason?! I put previous files from my old pc onto my Zen hoping that I could transfer them onto my new Windows pc but I fear I've lost the data on my Zen completely. Arggh, any suggestions guys? Please..x
