Re: Trying to connect to bluetooth
PUT HEADSET IN PAIRING MODE 1.Ensure the headset is turned off (indicator light not blinking and headset boom is closed) 2.Press and hold the Call button. After about 4 or 5 seconds, the indicator light becomes steadily lit in magenta 3.Release the Call button and immediately open the headset boom. The indicator light remains lit in magenta. If the indicator light is flashing in blue or not steadily lit when opening the headset boom, repeat steps 1 through 3

You will need the same version of bluetooth and the headset. Version 2.1 is backwards compatible with version 1.2. That being said, your phone will need to have the higher version of bluetooth technology. So therefore your headset will not work with this phone.
Hi, to be sure if the blue tooth wll be compactible with Samsung Gusto, you will need to use the below instructions first after trying out the instruction and still does not work, that means it's not compactible with it.
Read the owners manual for your bluetooth device. You will need to find the code to pair your headset to your phone. This code is usually 0000 (those are zeroes) but verify before you proceed.
Enter your bluetooth option on your cell phone. These can be found in your menu under "bluetooth," "connections," "settings," or something similar.
Turn on your bluetooth headset and put it in pairing mode. Pairing mode means the bluetooth is ready to be found by your cell phone. To pair your headset, follow the owners manual for your specific bluetooth model.
Select "add device" or "search for new device" from your cell phone. Your cell phone will then search for your bluetooth. Once it is found, or discovered, you will need to enter the pairing code (most likely 0000, check your manual to verify).
Select "connect" to finalize the connection if the bluetooth headset didn't connect automatically after the pairing code was entered. Make a test call with your bluetooth in your ear to ensure it is connected properly.
1.First switch on the bluetooth in mobile phone.Keep the headset switched off.
2.Now press the call button for 2 seconds if you are paring this headset for first time,If this head set is aired already with another mobile press for 8 seconds until the headset status indicator
begins to flash blue then red
3.Now search the bluetooth by your mobile device. It detects and you can pair it
Check to make sure that the bluetooth headset is compatible of connecting to the mobile device. If it is, then you will need to pair the devices using the Mobile Device. Make sure the Bluetooth Headset is switched on when the Mobile Device is trying to search for the Bluetooth Headset. It should work but if it doesn't, check the Manufacture's Website for any support.
Your friend should be able to use the headset if your friend's computer has Bluetooth feature. THe computer will send and receive the Bluetooth signals with one transmitter/receiver like your computer does and then connect to the wireless lan with a different transmitter/receiver system on a different frequency. Just make sure your friend's computer has Bluetooth feature turned on and then setup the headset by the "pairing" process.
blinking red and green means the headset is in pairing mode and ready to be connected to your phone. This means it is either the first time you have paired the headset or you have depressed the volume +/- buttons simultaneously for more than 5 seconds. If your phone cannot find the headset, it may be a compatibility issue. Try pairing the headset with a friends phone, possibly a sony ericsson. Good luck.
this post is quite old but i think i'll answer it...first of all your phone must have bluetooth. to use it you must pair your phone with your bluetooth headset first. Open your bluetooth headset in pair mode and then open your phone bluetooth pair them and they will auto connect after you paired them(usually).
