Re: dosent recognize games
You can take it apart (and void the waranty) and resolder the connection between the drive and the Xbox reader or just send it in to microsoft.... if you still have the waranty (which you probably do) then they will fix it for free

If you replaced the DVD-ROM drive yourself, some newer Xboxes do not recognize and/or function properly with older drives. I tried replacing a drive in an older Xbox with an older yet DVD-ROM drive, and it would not work. When replacing a DVD-ROM in an Xbox, it is advisable to use the same model drive, as the Xbox does strange things when you introduce different hardware. The url of a page is below that details the different drives that Xboxes use. See if your new drive is the same as the old one, and if not, that is almost certainly the issue.
the dvd drive and motherboard are linked with a key, it sounds like you've just swapped drive's without swapping the board out of the drive thats why you're getting this error to fix it you must swap the drive boards aswell.just search youtube, you'll find plenty of detailed vids on how to do it.
That depends on the what you mean by "Fryed" if the old drive
P.C. board is damaged then that's bad news, if not then buy the
same make ,model drive from Rich's PSX or some othersource
for drives . Remove the old drives P.C. board and install it
in the new drive ,that should resolve the problem.
The easiest way is to buy another drive of the same make as your old one e.g if your drive is a samsung buy another samsung check for the make and model on the lid of the drive then swap the circuit board as this contains the firmware needed to match the 360 motherboard, other than that your looking at dvd key extraction done via a pc look on jungleflasher, com for a tutorial, or if your in the uk i can do this for £14 returned
Unfortunately , a new xbox360 game cant be played in a normal xbox (not xbox 360)
The problem is that the new xbox is way different on the inside than
the original xbox is. Because it is way more powerful, you can put an
old xbox game into a 360, and it will work fine (most of the time), but
if you try the reverse there is no way to make it work.
Hello. The pcb board is "married" to the motherboard with a certain firmware. If you didn't flash the new drive with the correct firmware it will not work. The best thing to do is just replace the laser if you have DVD drive problems. I hope you still have the old one! Good luck to you. Thanks!
well my friend thats because each xbox 360 drive is unique for each console so it only works on the original console, to solve this you have to flash the firmware from the old drive and put it the new one, there are many sites explaining it just google it.
