First i would try to test another headset in place of the one that could be broke. if the other head set works then your headset has either worn out over time. or you recieved a defective one. if you cant return it cause its out of manufacture or store warranty, and you want to salvage them. you can get a cheap set of headphones take the plug, and solder it in place of the old wire which will probably be the problem.

PHILIPS HTS 3578W POWER IS AVAILABLE BUT DOESNOT WORKS

I have same problem. Philips hts 3578w needs several restarts before becoming operational. Situation is slowly getting worse. I suspect a condensator in the power supply that is not functioning correct.

My ipod is just playing without the sound carrying through to the speakers. I dont know how to make it work?

Verify there is nothing plugged into the headset port, including headsets, headphones, or adapters.
Original iPhone only: While on the Home screen, adjust the volume buttons. If you see the icon below, indicating that headphones are attached, there may be debris in the headset port:

To remove debris in the headset port, try connecting a pair of headphones to the headset port and then remove the headphones. Repeat this several times.
If you have paired with a Bluetooth headset that is nearby, either use the headset or turn Bluetooth off (choose Settings > General > Bluetooth).
If that doesn't work, try restarting the iPhone. Hold the Sleep/Wake button until "slide to power off" appears. Slide to power off your device. When it is off, press the Sleep/Wake button to turn it back on.
If restarting the iPhone doesn't resolve the issue, try restoring the device.

Looking for ear pads for my Sony MDR IF0230 headset. Any idea where I can buy a pair?

I found where you can buy the pads for your headphones but it doesn't look like they are available anymore. This website was the only place I actually found the part and as you can see, it says "no longer available"

My headset isnt working all anymore. it shows my mic is connected but no sound is produced

Check if your receiver is muted, if not it seems that your headset has the problem. Maybe the supply is cut inside the connection in the headset. Check it out.

Durabrand 2.0 CH USB Speaker System

Hi, Based on your post/description, the Durabrand 2.0 CH USB Speaker System is a basic external speaker that plugs into your PC's speaker/headset output (green jack). It is supposed to get its power from the +5VDC supplied by the USB port. Some USB port have current limiting therefore it can be anywhere from 10 - 500 mA. The power requirement of your external Durabrand speaker maybe beyond what the PC's USB ports can supply. It does not need to be recognized by the OS since it only connects to the USB to get power but there is no data interaction. Perhaps what you can do is get an external +5VDC power supply whose output is in USB type connector. The current rating would depend on the requirement of your speaker. Offhand, if the speakers are not that big, probably a 1 Amp would do. This is of course assuming that the Durabrand speaker system is fully functional. If with an external power supply it is still a no go and you have verified that sound do come out of your green jack (with the use of an ordinary headset), then the Durabrand is defective. Hope this be of help/idea. Post back how things turn up or should you need further information. Good luck and kind regards.
