The seal, commonly referred to as the "boot", has two wires that go around it. One directly behind the door, and the other when you take the machine apart. Assuming you are talking about the frist one, your husband can manage this, but it will be a pain. The best way to do it is to center the spring where it goes on the bottom, there will be a place eespecially for it, then put one side of the ring on the left and pull to the right, or vice versa. Trying to go frrom the bottom to top would be a nightmare. Good luck!!

Water leaks out the front door even though the rubber boot is ok and in place. The retaining clip is pretty flimsy though. Can't seem to position it so as to seal the door.

check for any dirt in between the rubber bush and the door, there also chances that the lock spring being damaged or loosened too much. did you clean the dirt collecting filter usually placed in the bottom corner of the machine where coins and other things caught by the washing machine?

Washer leaks during spin cycle. my daughter pulled the drum out of alignment temporarily while pulling a comforter out of the washer. the door seal is intact although there is a wire ring that came out...

The spring goes around the door seal it needs to be stretched around the small lip that holds the seal in place. The spring is where you grab it with needle nose pliers. the spring goes on the bottom. You will see where the rubber seal has a wider spot this is where the spring should be right at the 6 o'clock position. This is a little tricky to do the first time trying but keep at it you will get it.

Motor makes noise shortly after starting, makes normal sound level during main body of wash, then makes noise again during what I'm guessing is the rinse cycle. Not sure if it is a pump or motor problem....

Make sure the sprayer arm is turning freely, check for something stuck in the base of the sprayer arm (food or utinsel) preventing it from turning.

Spin Cycle - washer starts bouncing around room even though level

There are about 6 pairs of springs to hold the bottom tube to the bottom chassis. If some of these came off from designed positions, the tube won't be in balance then the washer starts bouncing off. Make sure these pairs of springs in place then you have no problem.

Large rubber door seal came apart

Yes it can be put back on without taking the drum apart. The larger end goes on the drum side. Fit larger end around drum lip make sure it seals all the way around, install spring around seal. Smaller end goes around door opening. Install seal around outter lip and install spring around seal.

My husband fixed it. But it still leaked really bad! I just took a couple of min. to refit the seal and it does not leak at all now! maybe your seal is not placed around the edge correctly! as it is easy to place it wrong! good luck!! keep my email address if I was helpfull!! Metal ring aroound rubber seal fell off.

Start with the spring at the bottom, work the retainer around until the seal starts to pull away from the washer. Now grip the loop that the spring attaches to on the side that isn't in place and open the retainer. Push the retainer in place and release the spring.

Leaks from front door 2 loads AFTER too much suds

No. It is not a costly affair. Order a new door boot seal from your local agent and fit it yourself. If you lift the outer lip of the seal on the front of the machine you will see a wire that runs all the way around the seal and attatches to a spring. Remove this wire and pull the seal free. On the other side you will find a strap holding the back of the seal in place. Loosen the strap and the seal comes away. Fit the new seal in reverse order ensuring that the drain hole/s are at the bottom of the seal.
