Question about Briggs & Stratton Briggs Stratton Intek V - Twin Vertical Ohv Engine with Electric Start 22 Hp, 1" X 3 5/32" Shaft, ModelNo. 44K777 - 0027 - E1
Hello. All engines need air so be sure your air filter is clean and not bogged down with oil. All engines need good spark so be sure you have the correct spark plug, properly gapped. All engines need good fuel so be sure you have a clean fuel filter and new gas. Gas that has been sitting around for over one month could lead to problems alone. IF your gas in the tank is old siphon it out and start fresh.
NOW. Get a can of starter fluid at any auto parts store and an assistant. Remove the plug and squirt some starter fluid into the spark plug hole and reinsert the plug. Then quickly spray some starter fluid into the air intake [air filter area]. Start it up. Keep it running by having your assistant continue to spray a little starter fluid into the air intake. Keep it running for a couple of minutes using this method. THIS will clear out the gunk that is causing the rough running or slow starting.
4 thumbs up please. ty.
