by letting it run down fully before recharging the battary , same can be done for mobile phone batterys , and as for the songs did you just remove them from your playlist and not teh labary to remove them from the libary sometimes on older mp3s you have to do it from the computer when it is conncected with the software running to put the music on and off the player

Battery Drain in MP3

I have seen these - set your device so that there is no back-lighting. Then go buy a NiCad rechargeable battery set (comes with charger and usually 4 batteries) they are really cheap lately at Big Lots , Radio Shack , Walmart, etc. These should last at least a full day. If they aren't - go exchange yours, because there is something wrong with it. Good Luck!!!

Help !!!!!!

please use your itunes software to update or reflash the software on the device.

you may also want to try to reset the device by letting the battery drain itself out, leve it turned on until the battery dies, once it is dead, leve it like that over night, then recharge it.

No it is not common. You should make sure you downloaded the songs properly. Did it work the first time? Where did you get the songs? update your problem and I might be able to help.

Battery doesn't hold charge

It is just like that because it isn't done recharging. After a while it will turn back to what it's real power level is. You should let your MP3 player recharge for over an hour at least to have it fully recharged.
