Question about Dryers

Kenmore Dry Model Number 110-70602990

Dry will not heat up, repairman came out and ordered lent assembly. I received part and a phone call from repairman, cheaper for me to install, only two screws. Installed part, still no heat.

My Kenmore HE5 dryer will not run without blowing an internal fuse. The repairman replaced the fuse, and it blew again. The dryer heats up but will not turn it's heating element off until the fuse blows....

Has any one checked the exhaust vent, other than a bad thermostat the number one cause for the thermal fuse to open is a clogged or restricted exhaust vent flow, the entire vent system needs to be checked ( not just the hose from the unit to the wall) for proper air flow. Turn the unit on TIMED ,AIR DRY (NO HEAT) and go outside to the exhaust vent and check the air flow,if there is any question as to weather the air flow is sufishent get someone out to clean the exhaust vent ,it always a good idea to clean out every few years regardless to help prevent build up of lint witch could cause a fire......Hope this Helps Good Luck

Make sure that your vent is clean of lent. If your vent clean, then it is your element.

We have a Kenmore 110 6092299 90 Series dryer. The motor still runs - but no hot air, at all. I've tried timed and heat dry. Nothing. It just tumbles and it takes 4-5 rounds to dry. At first we were told...

Sounds like the heating element or the thermo-cut off. A vent being clogged for some time, can cause too much heat to build up and make the element or cut off fail. These are the 2 most common things.

Dry will not heat

The machine must be repaired, most of the repairs below require a technician.

Check thermal fuse at the back and ensure that the door is closing well.

Check if the fan is working , if it is not working test and eventually replace fan assembly.

If the fan is ok check if the heating element is working, eventually test it with a multimeter.

Test also the thermostat and eventually have a look at the door latch.

If the machine still does not get hot , and all tested part are fine, then replace the control assembly.

If you need a technician ring the number listed on the owners manual.

You can also find parts and diagrams for your model entering model number here.

I have a lady kenmore dryer it doesn't dry the clothes their is not even heat to dry them.

okay ASSUMING is electric and the dryer operates normally otherwise, you have a bad heating element. Most are not that hard to replace and finding one online is relatively easy if you do a search for the model number or even serial number. If you have basic electrical and mechanical skills and a multimeter to ensure power is off to the unit and that the breaker used for the cicuit isn't compromised you could probably get this done with an expense under $75.00 usually. Check the exhaust ducting to ensure it is not restricted as well.

If your unit is a gas model and the element needs replacing call an experienced repairman.

Hope this assists you.

Dryer does not dry

The suggestion from barnsleymick gave us some good direction in fixing our Kenmore SmartHeat Quiet Pak 9 HE 4. We discovered our vent pipe was clogged with a great deal of lent and a quart or two of water. We cleared the vent of the lent and water and the dryer is now working like a champ! Thanks for the direction.
