Computer crashing We are currently running windows XP and have sent it away to many professionals none or whom can fix the problem. the problem is we get a blue screen which dumps memory and we have to restart the computer. The blue screen says- A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer. the problem seems to be caused by the following file; ati2dvag if this is the first time you have seen this stop error screen restart your computer. If this screen appears again follow these steps: the device driver got stuck in an infinant loop. this usually indicates a problem with the device its self or with the device driver programming the hardware incorrectly. please check with your hardware device vender for any driver updates. Technical information; ***STOP: 0x000000EA (0x839650B0, 0x83F6D8B0, 0xF7987CB4, 0x00000001) ati2dvag Beginning dump of physical memory. We have looked for this driver everywhere Toshiba and no one else recognise it.

Hi,

Its down to the graphics card/graphics controller, the Ati drivers are conflicting with the other hardware and the system files.

The Ati CAT drivers have been very hit and miss for a long time, all I can suggest is that you download older versions of the CAT drivers for your model of graphics card and make sure they match with your CPU model, try them until you get a stable system.

Also, just out of interest what type of CPU, Graphics card and OS are you using - I will do a bit more research for you then.

Cheers

The most current driver for this product is already included in the Windows XP Operating System. Currently there are no updated drivers available.
If the driver did not work, try to use the IBM Proprinter or Epson LQ driver.

I have the acer5715/5315 series abd it crashed. I had it fixed and the guy put windows 7 so now none of my acer programs work. How can I get these to work with windows 7

Operating System Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 2
Windows XP Home with Service Pack 2
Windows Vista Home Premium
Windows Vista Home Basic
Windows Vista Starter

1. Before upgrading to windows 7, you must check the specification of your acer aspire 5315.

2. Windows 7 is better than windows vista but if you are really wanted those acer programs to work. You have to downgrade your operating system from your previous operating system.

Windows crashes ofter the winxp logo... what will be the solution to this?

Restart your computer.
Repeatedly press F8, until you see the Windows "start-up" menu (white text over a black background).

Choose "start in Safe Mode".
Start the "System Restore" tool.
Pick a "checkpoint" on which date/time that your computer was working properly.
Restore your computer to that date/time.

What happen if computer hard disk overload

your hard drive would eventualy crash and seeing that the drive is overloaded there wouldn't be sufficient space left for System Restore to run as it needs a fair amount of space to run. My advice is to always keep about 10% of your HDD size open for System Restore to run properly in case of a HDD crash or system crash.

How to upgrade win 95 to winxp without removing files installed

A computer running Windows 95 WILL NOT RUN Windows XP in most cases. Post all of your hardware details and we can explore that further.

Most programs that run on Windows 95 WILL NOT RUN under Windows XP easily. There are some compatibility things you can try for each one, but most simply will crash, and some will seem to work for a while then crash at inopportune moments.

What you should do is buy an newer computer with Windows XP, remove your current hard drive, and put your current hard drive as a second drive in the new computer. You will have access to your documents, but your programs will not run.

My Acer Aspire One crashes when the battery gets to around 50%. Is this a fault with the battery or the machine?

is it xp or linux? i believe there's a problem with xp versions to do with wireless, been testing it, it won't start if wireless is turned on, crashes at the windows loading screen. If you disable it in safe mode, restart it, it will start. but when you go into windows, and enable wireless, it crashes straight away. hope someone has the same problem and a fix is found soon, for now i'll try to convince shop to exchange or refund it
