That is most common problem of DVD player recorder, when getting old cannot read DVD discs, only video cd and audio cd,sometimes does'nt read video cd also. The problem is in inside of the unit the DVD processor is defected already or maybe the solder is crack, need to resolder again or reheat the processor solder, or that processor change with a new one,so the performance will back again, good as new.The lense of that unit is good,i can assure that.

Try to play a dvd in the recorder. If it plays the DVD, most likely the recorder is fine If not, the lens is dirty or the recorder has a problem. You can also try a different brand of DVD/rw

I have a CD made from a record about 10 years ago. Has been kept in case in my lounge, no moisture, no scratches but now it will not play in any machine I can find of will not play or even recognise disc...

The format you originally made disc with is nearly obsolete. I have same issue with newer discs in older CD player in an older BMW. You might try to copy it on a MAC/Apple computer and then convert to MP3 or MP4 - OR check locally with CD duplicators some have older converters.

look for a small hole near the front of the cd drawer, use a pen to push the small button inside, and the disk should come out. some cd recorders don't have the button, but they are inside, you need to open the case to get at it and the push it to eject the cd/dvd one other thing you might try, is to unplug the unit from the wall (power) and then plug it back in, when it first powers up, push the eject button and it may come out then

What disc should i use to burn, on teac rw-cd22 cd recorder

You have to use blank CD-R Audio or CD-R Music CD's in a home CD recorder. It will not record on data disc media but it will play almost any CD with CD Audio music on it.
