Wifi Setup gateway is off don't know what it means. When wifi is working why does it kick me off then broadcast saved and secured??

Routers are rather sophisticated to se up.
It would take far too long to deal with all the possibilities here.

Your "Gateway" is the port to your Internet or Internet gateway.
Often se for port 192.168.1.1 but several others could be used.
No Gateway to WAN means phone line or cable cut or dead or being repaired.

What is my wep key

A WEP key is a security code generated in your wireless router.
You need this code in order to connect to your security enabled, wireless network.
If you log into your router you should be able to find it in the wireless security settings.
It can be a word, phrase, or a bunch of random characters.

Solved: Belkin G+ Mimo Wireless Router Issue Hi All

Ever since i bought this Belkin G+ Mimo Router, i've been having this problem, but couldn't find the time to take it back (or too lazy, whatever). :P

Trouble is, frequently when surfing the net, the router disconnects, for no reason. It happens almost everytime i go on youtube, and just some random sites i go on, will cause the router to disconnect. Can't seem to find the answer anywhere else, so i took it upon myself to register and ask you guys. Have no clue what the problem is, was thinking maybe a port issue, but since the router is uPnP i don't see how, besides, could that even cause it to disconnect? Anyway, any help is appreciated.

When I try to log on to my wireless internet I receive a message asking me to enter my security key

If you access point came pre-configured from your ISP, I suspect that the WEP key is on a sticker underneath the router, or was provided with the router itself (check in the box if you still have it). This is the 'key' that secures the wireless network, and will probably be quite long and random-looking.

How to identify security type on my belkin wireless router relative to nintendo wii security type options

For nintendo wii , you can use the security WEP or WPA ( PSK ).
These 2 security types will works with WII. If you put WEP,then 10 digit number will be the security code.
To change the security on the wireless network, you will need to open the set up page of the router.
Once you change the security on the router, it is recommended that you will change the wireless network name SSID. after changing the wireless settings , you will need to connect to the new wireless network on all your wireless devices like laptop , wii.

Internet doesn't stay consistently connected

belkin is famous for dropping its signal for no apparent reason, in my findings and dealings with several routers i have found "netgear" to be the best company not just for their products but for their customer service and tech support as well

Keep losing conection from wii to my belkin router

It's a wireless interference problem. To resolve that, you must change the router's wireless channel by logging in to the router's admin page http://192.168.2.1 you can change it under the Wireless tab. Set the channel to 11 and save the changes. Try to power cycle the router after that.

If you don't know the WEP key, then the security is working (ironic, isn't it?)

If you want the Wii online, you will need to log into the router's interface and disable encryption entirely or (depending on the router) simply change the security key.

Bear in mind that if you change the key, all the other wireless devices will no longer work until you update them with the proper key.

Hope this helps - be sure to rate :)
