Question about ViewSonic N2700W 27 in. HD-Ready LCD Television

ViewSonic N2700 Blinking power button

I recently got a ViewSonic flat screen from a friend that had, up until I received it, worked great. However, when I hooked it up at my place the the power button would light up but the screen wouldn't turn on. After messing with the power hook-ups a bit the TV turned on, however, it wouldn't turn off.
Finally I unplugged the TV to get it to turn off, but now when I plug it in the power button just blinks. I don't get audio or visual, just a blinking power button. Help!

my tv was working fine 4 hours ago...  then when turning it on the next day -- blinking blue power light.  the light will go solid but no picture or sound.  I have tried different inputs with no change in problem.  I removed the tv tuner box -- no change.

Replace the power supply, buy it on the internet by looking up the model number on the power supply. I have this tv and it did this until I ordered a new one. it runs hot and has a loud fan.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Viewsonic VX922 - black screen of death and the blinking (mocking!) green led

Really if this happens then you may want to contact viewsonic to see if it still in warrant. Reminder that most of their monitors have a 3 year warrany from the date of purchase. So make sure that you have your proof of sales/receipt/POP/invoice or what ever you want to call it ready. This model is old so they will ask for it if its a first time repair.

The flashing green power button is a well known electronic problem with this (and other) Viewsonic LCD monitors. There is a YouTube video (do a search) showing how to disassemble the VX924 and find out whether the problem is related to blown capacitors. When I took my VX922 apart I discovered 6 bad capacitors out of a total of 7 on the power supply circuit board.Only recommended for those handy with a soldering iron.
