Pictures appears sharp, any writing such as captions, especially white are most unsharp. How do you focus a tv

No It cannot the settings are what they are. However Some Tv's have a little set of holes in the back of the set one saying HUE,FOCUS, and other different adjustments I do not DO NOT recommend Touching them without knowing what the Consquences might be.

If you go to this link it has the manual for your TV, looking at the picture and labels for your remote, it says to press 'normal' to reset all settings, I hope this helps

Sharp 20f640 focus problems

At the rear of the tv there may be two controls on the right hand side marked "screen" and "focus".If the set is newer, you will have to remove the cover and look to your right. You will see a dark object with a black or red wire coming out of it's top. That is your flyback transformer. On this you will find these two controls.Adjust your focus with the one so marked.Be careful to only adjust this control while you watch your picture clear.PROMPLY put the cover back.

TV Screen Gone Green Red Yellow etc

would this be the picture tube?

no, not at all.

it might be due to change in direction

or some body might have turned  tv direction

or any magnetic thing might be near tv.remove it like speaker or headphone etc.

put off tv for 30 minutes & see it will be ok.

Picture is very dark

Is there a simple fix for this, yes The picture is very dark it is mostly due to 1 power supply output is low. 2 voltage on crt g2 pin is low. 3 video output supply is low. 4 some components in luminance section might be defective or loose. 5 finally crt getting weak but as you have bought in 2004 so possibility is rear. good luck

Picture adjustment questions

*The brightness control setting determines how bright your picture will be. *The contrast control sets the gain of the video circuit. This determines the difference between dark and light scenes. Low contrast settings make the picture "hazy". High contrast settings make the picture more distinction between dark and light scenes. *The sharpness control determine the frequency response of the video circiut. High sharpness settings give better resolution but also shows more noise in your picture. Lower sharpness settings smoothe out the picture removing noise but also fine detail. It needs to be set for the best all around picture. *Picture Enhancement is pre-set adjustments which give you different picture qualities. You just select the one you like. Stargazer

Try # 2... Green Fog

The green gun in your picture tube is set a little too high. If you are experienced in removing the back cover of TV's,etc., you may try to find the drive and/or bias controls either on the circuit board that plugs on to the neck of the picture tube or mounted on the main circuit board of your TV. These controls are usually labeled. If you can find them, locate the green bias or drive control and back it down a little while watching the picture through a mirror. A slight adjustment may correct your problem.tJIS IS CALLED GRAY SCALE ADJUSTMENT. BE CAREFUL THERE ARE SOME HIGH VOLTAGE CIRCUITS NEARBY. WORK WITH ONE HAND AND USE AN INSULATED TOOL TO MAKE ADJUSTMENTS I hope this may help you.AGAIN BE CAREFUL!! Stargazer
