Yes, we're having the same problem, the iPod is less than six months old. All of the songs previously added have disappeared, and now it will not sync at all.

We've tried resetting the iPod as instructed on the Apple site, we've even tried uninstalling "iTunes" and reinstalling in case the first version was corrupt. Nothing works.

Comments or solutions would be greatly appreciated.

Both of you should still have warranty on the player, you can get it repaired for free by contacting your dealer.

Sounds like your battery has died.
You have three options:
  1. If your iPod is less than a year old, go to the Apple Store and they should be able to replace your iPod for free on the spot!
  2. If your iPod is older than a year, you can pay Apple a fee to get it fixed
  3. If you are looking to get a new iPod anyway, bring your old iPod with you to the Apple Store and you will get 10%off when you buy a new one! (Mention that you have your old iPod with you!)

Will not charge or turn on

Plug your Ipod into your computer. Hold down both the Menu Button (on/off button) and the center button( just below the screen) for 15-30 seconds. You should see the Apple sign after that time. Mine died and was revived this way.

My Ipod Screen Went White And Now It Wont Turn On, How Do I Fix It?

Try to reset it. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until either the Apple logo or battery symbol appears. If the battery symbol appears, continue to charge iPod touch until it is fully charged.

If this doesn't work, try restoring the iPod

Try resetting your ipod:
  1. Push the hold switch to hold and then set it back to unlock.
  2. Press the Menu and Select buttons same time and hold for at least 6 to 15 seconds.
  3. Release the buttons when Apple logo shows.
If this does not work you might have a faulty battery and the only way to fix that is so buy a new ipod

My daughters ipod touch just went off mid song, she checked if charged on computer and it says it's fully charged, but it wont come back on. Any ideas? it's 18 months old.,

Try holding down the home and shutdown buttons for around 5 seconds to reset it (Don't worry you wont lose any content on the iPod)

If that fails check to see if you have the newest software installed. Just plug it in open iTunes, select the iPod on the left hand menu and click check for updates.

If it's still not working then there could be a fault with your battery. But don't open it up or you will void your warranty. Give Apple a call and they should fix it for you.

Doesnt turn on.

This same thing happened to me. I was playing fantastic contraption and my ipod screen just went black and wouldnt turn back on. When I plugged it in to a charger, it made that charging noise, but wouldnt turn on. SOLUTION: try holding in the sleep/wake(power) button, and the home button at the same time for about 15 seconds or until you see the white apple logo. That worked for me, hope you get it fixed.

Ipod problems

First and foremost, make sure you have the latest software INSTALLED.

If your iPod is frozen or won't turn on, connect your iPod to your computer, then press and hold the "Menu" and "Select" buttons simultaneously for 10 seconds to reset the iPod. Resetting an iPod will not affect your files or preferences.

If your iPod fails to hold a charge and it's more than a year old, you may need a new battery. If it's under a year old, I would suggest sending it in for repair.
