Acer Aspire 9410 series laptop, Built in Orbicam problem
My Orbicam originally worked, and I snapped a couple pictures with it. However now when I open the Orbicam program, it says "Camera is in use by another application" in red. Then right underneath that: "stop the application that is using the camera and press reconnect"...a toggle "reconnect" button is right next to that.
However, I never messed w/ any of the settings, and don't even know how to use the Orbicam with another program?
how can I find out which program is using my cam and stop it, so I can take pictures and videos once again?

Re: Acer Aspire 9410 series laptop, Built in Orbicam...
The problem is that another program has gained exclusive access to the camera, it won't be an MS program though, it will be a thrid party program to narrow it down.
To locate it, open up task manager and look at the processes running and end any program like: Printer software, scanner software, any other imaging software...etc
You could also try uninstalling the camera in device manager, leave it connected and reboot the system, windows will automatically detect it again, it may ask for the driver disc again. Then start up the program you want.

Sounds like the original program got corrupted. When was the last time you ran disc defrag? Anyway, to fix, for some odd reason, moving all your pictures to a new file, leaving your picture file empty, may fixya.. If that doesn't work, reinstall the original Orbicam program as follows: first go to
control panel, then check out device
manager to see if you have any nasty big checks. If "imaging devices: has
a big check, try reinstalling the driver there. If that doesn't fixya,
click on Start, then Acer Empowering Technology, then Acer E-Recovery,
choose Restore Apps and Drivers at the bottom of Restore tab. It will
extract; then click Install for Vista or (XP) on the left - click
Drivers - Camera or CCD - on the right side of the screen for your
which you saw in device manager. Please let me know if that doesnt do
