To whom it may concern,
I have been using nokia 6070 for 2 years. I must say it`s a good phone. the problem is since the first time i got it that everytime I turn it on " check info service and connection setting" appear. It's very annoying. please let me know the solution. thanks a lot .I really apppreciated.
I have a different Nokia phone, but if kept sending "Check Info serivce". I got rid of it by going into Messages, then Info Messages, then Info Services, and turning it to Off.
I had turned it to Topic Index when I first was scrolling through the menus, and this turned on some sort of service that notifies you when the reception drops or re-connects, or something of the kind.
Good luck. I found it very annoying and only had it for half a day!

make sure you used correct usb cable, Download Phone Manager, go directly to download phone manager software, this is free. Also make sure phone configuration setting ready, if no, ask your network provider for configuration setting.
If you still have the headset, connect it to the headset connector and remove it, do this several times and check everytime you disconnect it. If this doesn't help, please check if there's any short on the headset interface. Clean it with a soft cloth or cotton dipped in alcohol or spirit.
Your last option is to open it apart and check the headset interface internally. I would recommend you to visit a mobile repairing shop and get it repaired.
Thanks for using FixYa.
First of all connect the phone to the PC through the USB cable Fire up Nokia PCSuite. Does the Suite recognize it and show it connected. You say No. In that case you have to configure from Settings the phone to be read by PCSuite. Once recognized, then you must click on the Internet option in the Suite. here again you will have to configure the modem settings shown by a geared wheel. Set the modem as Nokia 6070 and the service provider as whatever your service provider is. click OK and then click on Connect. It will take a few seconds to connect and when connect the Internet portion of the suite will minimize on its own and you can then close the PCSuite box. And you are ready to browse.
yes you can use your phone to access the internet.
ask your service to activate gprs on your number.
once gprs is activated, then ask them to send you the settings that you have to incorporate in your settings.
then you can access internet.
also, if you want to use the phone's modem for your PC that also can be done.
install Nokia PC Suite on your PC after downloading it from www.nokia.in
connect the phone thru a USB cable, that came with the phone.
PC Suite will detect the phone and install the drivers.
then, thru PC Suite you can connect your PC to the net.
You need to contact the phone service provider for necessary setup. The service provider would be the one that would give you the username and password that you'll be needing so that you could use the phone as a modem for your computer.
Oh!....Ok Go to setting and check whether the network settings for the services are correct.....If the problem still exists then, try making a call to your service provider. Reply me soon....checking the settings...
