Can i reformat my laptop using a downloaded OS from internet

the current OS version available for download is Yosemite 10.10.5
therefore if you wanna instal the older Maverick you need to find it as a torrent file and download it.
The file is around 5.3GB and arrives as a self-installer app in your Applications directory, if you want to install Mavericks on other Macs without having to re-download it on each machine, you will need to copy that installer outside of Applications before attempting the installation, otherwise the self-installer will remove itself upon completion.

It would be helpful if we knew the Make, Model of the Laptop and the OS you are using. Do you mean System Recovery/Factory Recovery? Explain reformat?

Following the re-install of your OS it is likely that one or more drivers were not re-installed, in particular the network card. I'm not sure which OS you are using but Windows only includes driver support for the most common devices at the time the installation CD was produced.
You can download drivers for your model at http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/default.page? You will need to download them using a different machine and then transfer the network driver (using a disc, pen drive etc) to the laptop and follow the installation instructions.
Once you have restored the network driver you should be able to download any other required drivers direct to the machine.

Possible that PC is hanging up as there is fault on the OS ( operating system) . So open the internet options in the browser and clean all the cookies, temporary internet files, defragment the drives and RESTORE the PC to an earlier set date.

You can use a registry cleaner like Advanced system care. Download from the site and check you system for corrupt files. Also use a good antivirus software which is active to keep your system performing without an attack on the OS. Remove all unnecessary programs installed which you do not use all the time and clean up the drives. This will free up the space and make your system faster.
If there is no response but the PC tends to work slower and occasionally hanging when a program is being executed then you might have to install the OS once again. Install the OS and then an antivirus before the drivers of the PC is installed.

Software issue. Camera may not be compatible with the OS that you are using. Bet that if you go back to the original OS your camera will work.
Upgrading unnecessarily is fraught with consequences.

if you dont know, click here. choose your operating system(os) that you use now(current os)

can you see it?. Icon with yellow color in question mark that your hardware have problem with driver. Try to right click and once window will pop up.
Find driver tab. And update, It will need more time depending your pc/laptop.

No, you don't need to download the drivers you have to looked for the motherboard installer of your PC, then install the chipset of your motherboard in order for you to use the internet connection.

That is an easy thing to fix, IF you can get online. Go to Support.dell.com and enter your service tag, or, select your model from the list. you can then download the graphics (or any other) drivers for your system. You may want to store those drivers on a flash drive, so the next time you reformat, you can zip right thru reinstalling the drivers.

Dear Valued Member, First of all you will need to check the device drivers existing in your current setting. For that you can download System Information Viewer (SIV) you can find the total details of existing drivers in your pc. copy the details for every option and save it on notepad, I will suggest you to transfer that .txt file on usb or disk. before formatting the pc try to find out the drivers on internet according to SIV list. then go for Format the PC. for further enquiry please proceed with comment on this same post.....Good Luck...

Might be the IE is corrupted so insert the OS disk and then click on add or remove windows components and select internet explorer and reinstall it.

Either download it from microsoft on any other system and install it
