Optiquest monitor screen turned bright pink. How to solve this issue?

First check your cord from the computer to the monitor to make sure the connections are clean and good on the blue vga cord. Plugging it in and out a few times will help clean the pins and holes.
If that is ok: then it may be bulbs.
Pink means that you have bad bulbs inside the screen. sometimes the pink goes away when the bulbs warm up. eventually it won't stay on.
There is a slight chance the power board is also getting weak. You would have to open it up to tell this.
Once partially opened, Disconnect the wide set of wire that goes from the back of the screen to the monitors main video board and then try to turn it on, If it is still bulbs they will really show up with this setup.
If you send me a picture of the power board to bammbamm@ptd.net, I may be able to tell if the board has issues by looking at the picture of it.

No monitor

If you have been fiddling around with the vga cord, you might have bent one of the pins, or problably dislodged the vga card. Try taking it off and back on. Sometimes is as simple as that.

Dont know how to turn on

The monitor has and adapter type power cord that plugs into the computer end of the VGA cable. Look for a small round hole at the PC end of the cable.

That's all you need. Just a standard power cord plus the VGA connector cable. Plug the new monitor into the same spot as the old one.

Monitor doesn't work

I'd try this monitor on a spare computer. It sounds like the video card (motherboard integrated or otherwise)is not putting out any video information or missing sync signals. The monitor must receive these signals or it will go into standy/sleep mode. If the computer has integrated (on motherboard) video, check your bios settings to see if it is properly enabled. If it has a slot video board, then try a different video board. Your present board might be dead. Another possibility is a bad cable connection. check the connectors for bent pins. Assuming the connector is the standard HDB-15, it is easy to bend a pin over.

Intermittent Display

if you have the skill for take off the cover, take off the metal shield and cables until you reach the board, have a 100watt light on,a solder hot iron in one hand and a few rings of tin in the other, obviously take off the plug and left it over a few meters, and waited a few minutes to give some capacitors discharge time,.............it's easy !!! resolder the joints that like dark, mainly see the big transistors,(or IC)that have like rings on it's pins, and thats all. I tell you its easy okay then you have to "rebuild" your monitor back.don't make shorts pleeease.
