BLOCKING WEBSITE USING WIFI

You want to block website ??
login using username and password

This will take you into the router administration settings.
There should be a Category "Content Filtering" or "site management" on something along those lines
Click on it and click on the sub-category "Block sites". At this point you are usually prompted to type in your router password again.
Simply type in the domain name of the site you want block or type a keyword which blocks any site you try to access containg that keyword in its domain name.
This will cover any device eg laptop, phone, ipod, tablet connected to the network cannot access these webstites because they have been blocked through the administrator so are blocked on your network.

Hi! I can't connect to the internet wirelessly using a WRH54G. connection status is "limited or no..." when on dynamic IP. status says connected when a static ip is assigned. tried pinging the router and I...

"Limited or no conenctivity" means that the network key(security password) that you typed when connecting to the wireless network is incorrect. Try connecting the laptop to the router using an ethernet cable to check whether you can get online. Access your router's setup page to check your network key.

How to access the router's setup page :
1. Using a wired computer, pull up internet explorer or any browser.
2. On the address bar, type in 192.168.1.1 (default IP)then press enter. It will then ask you for a username and password. If you havent changed the settings, username should be left blank and the password is admin.
3. On the black bar on top of the setup page, click on the Wireless Tab. Then on the purple bar, click on Wireless Security.
4. On the Wireless Security page, you will then be able to check your network key.

Second computer can't connect to the internet

Hi,
I had a similar problem when I got my laptop. What I did was type 192.168.2.1 (yours might be different because we have a wifi router plugged into a normal router, so try 192.168.0.1 otherwise) into the internet URL address box. This takes me to the Wireless Router's domain page. I then click on 'Wireless' and then it asks me for a password, which I leave blank because I never set one up, and now I am in the Wireless settings menu. I then click 'Use as Access Point' and then 'Enable'. Then I close the browser.
I then check my Wireless connections on the laptop and can see the router there in the list. I double click this and also make sure the 'Automatically connect to this network' is enabled. I wait a few seconds for it to detect and connect.. "Local and Internet Access"!
I open the internet browser and I am on my Google homepage.

Your settings will be slightly different, but essentially the same.
Try that.
Good Luck!

In Italy, have Netgear router, can only get google

The first thing to do is ensure they haven't been blocked in the router. To do this, log into your router and click Block Sites on the left hand side. If they are not displayed there, make sure it's not a DNS issue. To do this, log into your router and click Basic Settings. The change your DNS servers, to the OpenDNS servers; 1. Locate "Domain Name Server (DNS) Address " 2. Change the setting to "Use These DNS Servers" Primary: 208.67.222.222 Secondary: 208.67.220.220 3. Click Apply, and re-boot your router IMPORTANT: If your router is already set to "Use These DNS Servers", make sure to make a note of the IP's already in there, just incase you want to switch back, or the OpenDNS servers do not work (unlikely but possible). Once re-booted, try accessing the previously blocked websites. If you find they are still unavailable, check they aren't blocked directly on your computer (e.g. via a firewall or other security product). To do this, click Start > Run and type: CMD At the prompt, enter the following and press return (do this for each line below); nslookup {BLOCKED_DOMAIN} >> nslookup.txt tracert {BLOCKED_DOMAIN} >> tracert.txt Where {BLOCKED_DOMAIN} is one of the domains you cannot access. nslookup will provide the website's current IP for you. Aslong as this is NOT an internal IP (169.*, 172.*, 192.*, 10.*), it is resolving correctly. Tracert will allow a trace connection from your computer, to the affected websites. Lines you do not want, will contain a *.

Network not working after dsl modem connected to router

I assume this message indicates that wired connectiions to the router are successfully accessing the internet -- is that true?

Wireless are not accessing the internet, but appear to be connected to the router - is that true.

Do you know how to run PING? IF so ping the router from the wired and wireless and see if it works? IF it works wired and not wireless we have a wireless issue. IF it works from both we probably have a IP issue diagnosis follows this.

Do you know how to run IPCONFIG /ALL -- If so run it on the wired machine and the wireless machines -- gather the IP Address, Subnet Mask, Gateway, and DNS addresses from each machine. Any machine lacking DNS addresses or with invalid DNS addresses can not access the internet sites by name like www.google.com. If the gateway address is incorrect a machine cannot access the internet.

If you do not understand any of the above please ask by adding a comment to this message and I will attempt to provide detailed instructions.

Please provide the operating system of your computers to assist in providing directions.
