Question about VinoTemp (TC32GB)

1 Answer

We have a Vinotemp VT200 Wine Cellar. The digital display, normally switches between the two zone temperatures. Last week it started displaying "LL", but the cooler was still cool. I noticed liquid coming out from the bottom, and upon opening door, I found several bottles had frozen, broken and pushed corks out of the lower bottles. This is the first and only trouble that we have had with it. Is it repairable? Thank you, Bret Van Dyne bvdroofing@sbcglobal.net

Hi,

LL is an error code which means that it is too cold. This could be the result why you found few bottles frozen or broken or few have even pushed the cork due to the the above fault. This is highly suggestive of a thermostat or motor control board. You could inspect both the components.Once you replace the same, hopefully it would be all set.

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

The beverage center and wine cellars have a temperature display for each zone. 12 volts

AC is supplied to the display board from a transformer in the unit compartment. The displays are only temperature displays and have nothing to do with any cooling function. A thermistor is used to sense temperature for each zone. The thermistor for the bottom zone is located inside the lower portion of the separator. The thermistor for the top zone on the wine cellar, (mid zone on beverage

center), is located in the upper portion of the separator. The thermistor for the beverage center upper zone is located on the inside of the 2-piece evaporator cover. It is on the right-hand side.

The mid temperature for the bottom zones on either unit are 60? Fahrenheit plus or minus 5 degrees. The mid temperature for the mid zone on the beverage center and the top zone

on the wine cellar is 45? Fahrenheit plus or minus 5 degrees. The mid temperature for the

top zone on the beverage center is 38? Fahrenheit plus or minus 5 degrees. I think at tis time you should check each section with a pocket size digital thermometer to cofirm tha the mechanical thermostat is within calibration. Click Here=> 4344690 Temperature Control

I believe the problem may be in the PCB transformer shown at the bottom right corner of the wiring diagram. It is possible o change the transformer but I have not been able to find the board that powers the LED temperature readouts. If needed let me know and I will call Whirlpool mfor you, Thanks, Sea Breeze

Vt200 wine cooler needs a new capillary tube. Repairman needs to know the diameter and length. The diameter will be some degreenof a 100th of an inch.

Hi

The capilliary can be sized from the outside diameter, the repairman should have a guage to measure it this gives him the internal size from the outside diameter, the length only takes a tape rule, these are normally set to plus or minus 1 inch, so not too critical

Hope this helps

Do you carry the thermostat for vinotemp wine cellar TC32G?

You can purchase replacement parts for virtually all Vinotemp coolers directly from Vinotemp. Some parts are listed/available on Vinotemp.com (http://www.vinotemp.com/Browse.aspx/446/Replacement-Parts) But otherwise, just give their service department a call or shoot them an email and you can confirm the part number and purchase the required part.

Viking Wine Cellar Temperature Near-Freezing

Viking wine coolers are made by Marvel. They all had issues with freezing the contents. If you replace the electronic cold control system it will be fine.If you don't, it will freeze the wine popping the corks and leaking in the unit.If you get the parts from Marvell they are much cheaper.

Not sure, but did you clean the filter in the back? Ours has that, and the temp starts creeping up every few weeks until I clean it. But we've never been able to get it below 58 or so, and in the last year, not below 60. I think that's just the nature of this type of cooling. Our house is also at 80. But, can keep it at 60 with the above cleaning.

The digital temperature display on the EuroCave has a small lithium battery that can be replaced by removing the bezel around the display. This was all that was needed to solve the problem.
