Question about Nikon N60 35mm SLR Camera

1 Answer

I have had this camera in storage for 4 years. A couple of days ago, I put fresh batteries in it and turned the camera on. There was absolutely no response, no flashing lights, no display in the screen on top of the camera. I received a response from another who suggested a voltage issue with the batteries, and a trip to a service center. This sounds like a good answser/solution. Do you agree? Thanks so much for your help?

Check the battery contacts in the battery compartment for corrosion - scrape off the corrosion. If they're ok, yes, take it to a shop.

Why are the batteries dying so quickly in my Kodak 12MP?

It depends, if you are using regular Alkaline batteries, those are known to go dead really fast. Better if you try some rechargeable batteries with a rating of at least 2100mAh, anything smaller than that will drain just as quick as Alkalines.

OneStep Express Instant Camera: where do i put the battery in?...

The battery comes with the photo pack.

The photo packs are long out of production.

Remaining photo packs have flat batteries and are horribly expensive. They're only of use if you modify the camera (not easy without breaking it) to accept an external 6v power supply. Some photo packs are advertised as "fresh" due to refrigerated storage, but only the photo chemicals will be fresh as cold storage kills batteries even faster.

Pls. use lithium batteries Ni-Mh or rechargeable Batteries (2000 M.Amp or higher).

Make sure that you are installing a fresh/ full charge battery
Remove the battery
Clean the metal contacts on the battery using a clean cloth

Turns itself off every time I try to take a photo

I had a similar problem with my Cyber-shot S600. It just turned off every time I tried to take a photo. I bought a Sony recharger + batteries and it fixed the problem. Camera works fine and I'm impressed with the how long the batteries last between charges.

Problems with camera

Hi everyone,

I found you because 10 minutes ago, my camera exhibited the same behavior as all yours. All of a sudden, the red and green lights started blinking on and off and nothing worked. I just tried switching batteries and the camera is working! I am using a couple of RCR-V3 Li-ion rechargeable batteries, which I purchased on Ebay three months ago. Thought I'd pass it on.

Take care,

Rosane.

C-8080 Turns off/on randomly..

Hi Galaxy,

Try running camera directly on DC from charger and see if it stays functioning.
If it does, they you either have:-
1) a faulty Lion battery
2) the battery detect circuit in the camera is faulty (reporting low battery and forcing shutdown)
3) the power switch on top of the camera may be leaky or partially collapsed
4) internal power supply circuit in camera has developed a fault.

Good luck...hope that the issue is the battery.
