Question about Philips 47PFL7422D/37 Television

1 Answer

The headphone connection on the side doesn't work after one day of use. I've worked with both the TV menu and set the headphone sound, and I've worked with our local cable company to see if they have an impact. Any solutions.?

I have a Grundig TV model: GU22WDVD10, my sound has randomly stopped working when connected to my ps4 but works connected to my Xbox? I have tried different HDMI cables and still no sound

does the tv have audio in if yes try this,,,,use your tv instead of headphone ,,,, For the PlayStation 4, you can just use a regular set of 3.5mm headphones to hear game audio through the port on the DualShock 4. To do so, from the PS menu, go to Settings > Devices > Audio Devices > output to Headphones > With yourheadphones plugged in select "All Audio" as opposed to "Chat Audio You can also adjust the volume from Audio Devices > Volume Control (Headphones) - tv. this may work

No sound on my technika 42" 3dtv

If the headphone jack socket works the audio output for the set is good, I suspect a dvd etc will also work if connected to the rear input audio and video jacks.

This does not leave too much, headphone jack dirty or defective, speakers for whatever reason are switched to off in the main menu.

the sound for the headphone socket if it is built into the set is the same audio going to the speakers.

No sound. Picture is good. When a VCR is plugged into it the sound does work.

If sound when a vcr is connected the set is ok as far as sound goes--something is not connected or right with the settings in the menu or if you have a headphone jack built into the set it may be the issue.

Combos are like this--one part does not work and it becomes useless.

The headphone jack if it has one is your best hope--supposed to cut audio off when a jack is inserted but the jacks on the rear or front bypass that.

JVC RX-801V - No sound from right channel in speakers or headphones.

I'd troubleshoot first, even though you've already tried the headphones (good thinking). Get a battery (AA battery works) and put the black and red wires on opposite sides to see if the speakers are working.
Is there a menu of settings on the jvc, and is it set to 5.1? Just trying to help...

My rca whp141 doesn't seem to work with my Sony 32 Bravia Kdl32L4000. Can't get the light to light up on the base unit.help Please

Press the menu button from the remote, look for "Settings". You should have a "Sound" category. Once you've located that, press Enter to go into the submenu. You want to look for "Audio Out" option and change it from the default "Variable" to "Fixed". Then you should have sound in your headphone. You can just either mute or lower the volume of your TV. Hope this help.

No sound through the headphones

The way the headphone jack works is:

plug your headphones in and then mute the television using the remote.

While the TV is muted you can still use the volume up and down controls to adjust the volume through the headphones. I find that having the volume at 60-75% is more than loud enough on the headphones.

Just be careful when you unplug the headphones and take the TV off of mute, if your volume levels are still turned up you will be in for a jolt :)

Audio from tv is not restored by turning off power on headphones

It sounds as if you are plugging the base into a standard headphone jack located on the Television set.

RCA Headphone jacks (incl mini) automatically stop the sound output to the main speakers on almost every set I have seen.. or home stereo.. etc etc

In other words you can take a standard RCA jack.. with nothing connected to it.. plug it in while the music or sound is coming out the main speaker.. and it will cut off the output to those speakers..

If you set has audio outputs on the back.. preferably Fixed Audio Out .. you will need to connect your base unit to those.. turn your set volume to 0 and adjust the headset volume using the control on the right ear-cup.

If you have variable audio out.. you will need to go into your TV sets setup menu.. turn off the speaker.. and turn up the set until you achieve a signal and decent volume through the headset.

If you are missing these connections.. your current “work around” is your only solution.

Best of luck

Connecting laptop audio to tv

i had the same issue with a thinkpad T61 which i was connecting using VGA and a audio jack going straqight from the headphone socket to the back of tv.
I had picture but no sound and i found that once connected the issue could be solved by rotating the projection setting on the laptop(Fn+F7). Basically switched back to laptop only display, then back to laptop and projector display again and teh sound just kicked in.
i think it's related to the projector setting on the laptop rather than an issue with the tv.
