How do we know if the battery works? When plugged it seems to be charging

  • Thomas05 Jun 14, 2008

It has been plugged for a long time and never turns on or holds charge as soon as I unplug it. I guess I will have to return it

  • Anonymous Jun 16, 2008

Go through the reboot option of moving the slide switch on the left up for 15 seconds or more, then turn the clip on - it's a glitch in the clip that's mentioned - in passing - in the manual. I suspect a high number of returns are actually just locked up clips that need to be reset/rebooted. I almost returned mine before I figured this out.

I bought my Sansa Clip just 8 months ago. And just now the battery will not charge. Downloaded the lastest firmware yet still the same problem.

It's under warranty for 1 year so looks like I am going to have to go to the trouble to contact Sansa and mail it in for repair or replacement.

This is the pits. Really nice MP3 .. but now with battery trouble so soon, I am wondering if I should have bought a different brand.

my clip is recognized when plugged in but won't power on when unplugged from computer

  • camelean Sep 16, 2008

    same problem

  • tjmickol Sep 19, 2008

New 2GB Clip (2 weeks old) is recognized as connected to a winxp pc, the little battery icon indicates charging-in-progress, then after a moment or two no longer indicates charging-in-progress, just an empty batter icon. It then proceeds to toggle back and forth between charging-in-progress and empty battery indication every few minutes. Ultimately no charging of battery takes place. It did charge initially but just since yesterday has been exhibiting behavior described above.

well test it out charge for 10-20 at LEAST then unplug it should hold charge. does it use reusable batteries? i dont really remember. but if it doesnt try that. if it doesnt hold charge then its the battery. if it does hold charge and just turns of something else might be wrong with it. you will have to take it to the store for warranty or give a lot more details to this site. Hope this works.

It HAS to be the battery if it doesnt hold no charge. It better if you return it. Crappy Rating dont you think? jk its your choice.

My Sansa Clip won't work. When I turn it on it says: Not enough space for music DB Please free 30 MB. But when i connect it to my computer it doesn't register. PLEASE HELP ME

Because you drag 7 drop songs or files too much into the sansa clip in MSC mode, it causes like that.
Turn it on, it will show " Not enough.....free 30 MB", and then automatically turn off. Plug it into pc, open my computer, it will be under name "Sansa clip..." or "removable disk ". If your pc does not recognize it, unplug again and replug it.
Open Sansa Clip..., or removable disk, and delete some songs.
Good luck

I had the same problem this morning, albeit with my 8G Clip. Nothing worked -- the thing seemed dead as roadkill -- until I found a link about "forcing MSC mode." Basically, it told me to hold down the center button while plugging my Clip into my computer using my USB cable. Suddenly, boom! It's awake and alive and happy again. I'm unsure how that works, but that did it for me.

My computer does not recognize sanso clip and does not show that it is connected. What to do?

My sister has a Sansa Clip, and sometimes when I try to connect it, my PC doesn't recognize it.

You should try to upgrade to Windows Media Player 11. If that doesn't work, then, try MSC "force" mode. To do this, turn off the Sansa, put it in the hold position and hold down the center button, then plug it in. This will force it into MSC mode. See if that works.

What I did was go to the settings portion > USB mode > MSC. Try that, and then reconnect the Sansa and see if it works. Just go to Start > Computer and see if your Clip is reconginized.

Computer wont recognize sansa clip mp3 player

Reformat clip with disk utility after looking at it like an external disk. Do this by turning it off. Puting it in lock mode. Hold down middle button as you plug it in.

I am mad at my Clip as it did the same thing.

Sansa Clip with invisible podcast files

The podcats that aren't recognized may be in AAC instead of Mp3 format. Use Media Monkey or some other free software to convert them to mp3 format.
