Question about Frigidaire FRS23H5AS Side by Side Refrigerator

The ice maker stopped ejecting ice. Now no water going to icemaker

First the ice maker quit ejecting ice. Didn't do anything about it for over a year. We just used ice trays. Thought it was a hard water issue. Now we have RO water going to fridge and want an ice maker again. Took the ice maker out and cleaned it with vinegar and water. Put it back in. No water going into the tray. Is the water valve shot? Checked all the lines for freezes. None. Is there a sensor that tells the water to fill the tray? How does the damn thing work? I've notice that this seems to be a common problem with this model fridge.

An ice making mechanism includes a tray for receiving water to be frozen into ice bodies, a sensor for determining whether the water is frozen, to initiate an ice-ejecting mode, a motor for rotating the tray to perform the ice-ejecting mode, a switching mechanism for indicating a state of the ice-ejecting mode, and a switch actuating structure driven by the motor for changing a state of the switches during the ice-ejecting mode. When an ice-ejecting mode is initiated, a time period for the state of the switching mechanism to be changed is compared with a reference time period. If the state of the switching mechanism has not been changed within the referenced time period, the ice-ejecting mode is stopped, and the tray is returned to an up-right position. Also, an alarm signal is generated indicating to a user that the ice-ejecting mode has been stopped.

To Connect Water Supply Line To Ice Maker Inlet Valve 1. Disconnect refrigerator from electric power source. 2. Place end of water supply line into sink or bucket. Turn ON water supply and flush supply line until water is clear. Turn OFF water supply at shut off valve. 3. Unscrew plastic cap from water valve inlet and discard cap. 4. Slide brass compression nut, then ferrule (sleeve) onto water supply line, as shown. 5. Push water supply line into water valve inlet as far as it will go (¼ inch). Slide ferrule (sleeve) into valve inlet and finger tighten compression nut onto valve. Tighten another half turn with a wrench; DO NOT over tighten. 6. With steel clamp and screw, secure water supply line to rear panel of refrigerator as shown. 7. Coil excess water supply line (about 2½ turns) behind refrigerator as shown and arrange coils so they do not vibrate or wear against any other surface. 8. Turn ON water supply at shutoff valve and tighten any connections that leak. 9. Reconnect refrigerator to electrical power source. 10. To turn ice maker on, lower wire signal arm (see ice maker front cover for ON/OFF position of arm). for further assistance a fellow member has posted a tip

I have a 12 year old Sub Zero model 624. The ice maker has completely stopped producing ice. And actually, when opening things up we can see ice cubes have formed but they just haven't dumped into the...

This is the procedure but yours seems to be a faulty Icemaker and needs to be replaced since your freezer is cold enough to make ice rapidly.

Check Temp inside freezer. It has to be down to about 10 or 15 degrees
This can cause slow ice making if its too high even tho its freezing everything else at 25 degrees
See if water is in icemaker.
Pour water in Ice Maker and wait to see if it ejects.
If it ejects thenyou need to replace water valve in rear bottom of fridge(Its the part that
attaches to water line out of wall)
If it doesn't eject then it is a faulty Ice Maker.
If its leaking same part needs replaced. The water valve at the bottom rear of fridge.

Ice-maker stopped working

Pour Water manually in Ice maker and wait for ejection. If it ejects then the water mixer valve
underneath the rear of the Ref is defective. If it doesn't eject then the icemaker itself is the fault.

My icemaker has stopped receiving water

it sounds like your water valve is bad. you have a double water valve - one side operates the ice maker and the other side operates the water dispenser. the ice maker side of the valve is bad.

you can manually pour a little water in the ice maker ice mold and wait an hour or so - if it dumps the ice then you know for sure that the ice maker is cycling and water is not getting to the ice maker from the water valved

Ice maker quit water line works intermittingly

icemaker quite? hire a new icemaker. industry joke sorry.
First things first, is it cooling ok? if yes then proceed.
im assuming it stopped making ice altogether, and not a matter of making ice but not dispensing.

If your ice bucket is located in the door itself, you have an electric eye icemaker system, which electronically determines if the bucket is full or not. this electric eye system, located on both side walls of freezer, consist of a transmitter board and a receiver board. you could have a problem with these boards, the icemaker itself, a bad water valve, or depending on the model year, a icemaker fill line that can get clogged with ice, but due to a faulty design, a fill tube heater must be installed.

if your bucket is not in the door, but located directly beneath the icemaker, then disregard the electric eye system info and the fill tube heater info as well.

ICE MAKER QUIT MAKING ICE ON MY WHIRLPOOL FRIDGE

I had a Whirlpool Model GD5SHAXNS in which the icemaker quit working about the same time (3 years old). I had water out the dispenser, I found that it was the icemaker itself failed not calling for water to fill it. I replaced it with a icemaker on-line for about $100 and problem fixed. I have been told his is a common problem with the icemaker in this model ref.

ok first the dispencer doesnt affect ice production in any way onle diapencing so for get it the most common promblems will be the filter or the water valves on the back of the unit water and ice are on two different valves so because one works dont mean the other does also check the icemaker fill tube to see if its frozen a leaking icemaker water valve will cause it to freeze im also going to send you the procedure for checking the icemakermoudle its self do this after checking everything else remove the front plastic cover on the icemaker and you will see a bunch of little holes make a jumper wire out #10 or 12 house wire strip about 1/4 inch off the ends an insert in the holes marked t&h this will start a test cycle make sure you hold the plastic insulation so you don't get bit if the ice maker starts cycling remove the wire and watch for it to stop listen for the icemaker valve to open if the ice maker finishes and the valve didn’t fill replace the water valves if the icemaker doesnt cycle and you may have to kind of twist the jumper back and forth to get it to make contact depending on the gauge you used then replace the ice maker motor module if you hear the valve open and the ice maker doesnt fill check for a frozen ice fill tube that should do it
