Question about Canon PIXMA MX310 All-In-One Printer
as rudimentary as this may seem, i am lost at how to scan a picture to my laptop. I have a Mac Ibook if that makes any difference, and would love the assistance!
I have a mid 2007 iMac and find that the MX310 does not always behave with OS X Leopard. To scan via software. Turn on the printer. Select SCAN from the printer. Press either PRINT (Black or Color) buttons on the printer. A fax - scan icon will appear in the dock and a window will open allowing you to fax. Now comes the problem. Often it will not scan the first time, I almost always get the message ¨SCAN FAILED¨ the first time I scan. Just click scan again without touching the printer will usually work. Sometimes I have to play with the settings on the left side of the scan window, switching between duplex and simplex or B & W and color and back. Usually this frees up what ever is stuck. Once it works, it works! After the scan, quit the scan and save to either a PDF or one of the photo file types (JPEG, TIFF, etc.) The results wind up in the PICTURES folder under the name of the printer and then the current date.
