Change the switch. Sometimes gently yanking on the chain releases the jam. More often than not, the switch needs to be replaced which requires dis-assembling the fan.

My check vent light is on but is not clogged

Unhook the dryer from the vent and run the dryer. If the check vent light comes on, you have a problem with the dryer (probably the thermistor), if the light doesn't come on, then your venting system is inadequate.

I have a whirlpool electric dryer. There is a chain coming out around the inside of the back area of the dryer. It has come out about 12 inches. What is that part and is it fixable?

ive never heard of a chain drive dryer cept commercial dryers use a chain drive your chain is most likely a safety chain that was once hooked to the wall its perpose was if a child opened the door and leaned or sat on the door the dryer would not tip over they use safety chains on ranges for the same reason hope this helps

Replaced heating coil now dryer wont start

Assuming that another part has not failed, you probably have a wiring problem.

Make sure the door switch wires are connected. Also, the heater, thermostats, and thermal fuse need to be connected in series, like the links of a chain.

McCulloch 3200 won't run

sorry but really does sound as its only ran for 15 secs on the choke cleaner , we usually change the fuel filter ( thats inside the tank , use a hooked piece of stiff wire to pull it up ) , you will likely need to do a full strip and clean of the carb and fit a new diaphragm the small needle valve may well be stuck into its seat , also watch for the fuel line being perished , and very important , make sure its full of of chain lube oil and pumping correctly ( do this before you even fit the chain and bar )and the chain is tensioned correctly and the clutch and chainbrake operates properly

Dryer won't get hot

Yes, alot of people don't know that almost every part in a dryer can be replaced. More than likely the heating element has gone bad or died. Everything is accessible from the back of the dryer. HOME DEPOT or LOWE'S or any other large chain should carry the part or there should be a place that fixes appliances that you can buy the part from. Just remember to grab ALL the model numbers and ID's on the dryer and I usually take my digital camera with pictures of all the labels with me. Good luck.

How do i put belt on hotpoint electric dryer

If you have the belt already, then you can put it on much the same way you put a chain on a bicycle. Put it on the drum first, then ease it on the pulley and turn the drum slightly to make it slip all the way on.
