Ice Flap on my LG LSC26905TT will not close after ice dispences
I have had my LG LSC26905TT fridge for about 2 years. some time ago, i noticed that the small flap in the door, where the ice comes out, no longer closes automatically. The only way it will close is if i manually nudge it with my finger. The slightest touch will cause it to snap back shut. Much thanks to any help you can offer.
My ice flap will not close after ice despenses, even when you try to push it with your fingers
Hi: I have a Kitchen Aid refrig , with a indoor ice maker . The type that you push a glass up against the lever , and ice fals into glass . I am not the best at mechanical fix-its . What happened is a part fell into the glass when getting ice . Its a small wheel with a 1 1/2" long plastic arm attached , the end of the arm has a hole in it . The part does not look broken , only fell from place its supposed to be . The flapper door , that seals the hole from where the ice comes from seems loose now . Can you help ????? I appreciate it !

Remove all items from the fridge and keep open the fridge doors for atleast 2 days and that will remove all the frosted ice on the evaporator(which can't be seen) and shall work fine after two days.
you need to send the model number so i can look up your machine to see the part numbers, there's a piston that is used to close the dispencer door, close it and don't use it,if alot of hot air gets sucked inside there it could cause big problems depending on how wide open it is.the model number is on the right side wall up near the ceiling in the fridge side or if it's older it could be down near the bottom hindge on the fridge door.send the model number,i don't know if that part is less than 50 bucks
Contact both and do it in writing. Also contact the local newspaper.
Tell them the history of the fridge and your problems with it. Also look on the web for a consumer services hot line.
You may have a problem with the computer control board in the ice maker. Try this. Turn off the icemaker for about 2 minutes.
Turn on the ice maker and press the clear button. Press and hold this button for 12 seconds to get it to force extract. This will confirm that the motors will work and push the ice cubes out. Afterwards, let it run by itself. If it still doesn't make ice, you will need to replace the icemaker.
ther first refrig id have to see for better idea of problem but hte second with the flaps open and closing is going to need a high voltage board part num(12920710)---thats the part number i get wehn i look it up with the model MFI2568AEW. dont know where you got 12002608(that to is a h.v. board. which ever itssan easy enough repair to do yourself, its mounted on the rear of refrig and comes with programming instructions in the box
problem is due to ice flap closing too quickly, depending on model some have a delay before flap closes, ice should stop falling 3 seconds before flap closes.
