Question about Refrigerators

Need a wiring diagram for a GDL20kcsbs refrigerator

I am on (limited) off grid solar power. This refrigerator decides every night to run the defrost heater.

I would like to put in a switch or timer to override the heater so thatit can only come on when there is some sun around, not in the middle ofthe night draining the batteries.

Where can I find a wiring diagram for this refrigerator? Thanks!

Im in need of a wiring diagram for a Kenmore Side by Side refrigerator Model # 10657075791

The schematic should be under the kick plate grill. Remove grill and should either be in the grille or behind. Defrost thermostat is located on top of the evaporator behind back panel inside freezer

How do you add a switch to disable the thaw cycle from an Amana top freezer fridge.I need to do so i can use solar power on my fridge.the thaw unit uses to much energy so when i am boondocking i can switch...

while i do not reccomend doing this since more energy is used in running the components to make is cool (compressor, compressor fan & freezer fan) all 3 must run to keep it cool while the defrost comes on for 25 minutes about once every 4 days as compered to the cooling components running a average of 24 hrs during the same time span as compared to 25 minutes is to disconnect teh wires from the defrost heater behind the freezer back wall

ps if you read this and give me a bad rating i do not care

Whirlpool top freezer fan not runnning and no voltage to the fan with the compressor running

This refrigerator has a basic wiring diagram showing power going through the defrost timer, compressor and compressor start components. Because the model number could be very close to the ET8WTKXK your model may have either a ADC, adaptive defrost control or typical 482493 Defrost Timer

Here is a Whirlpool ET8WTKXK Top Freezer Refrigerator basic wiring diagram.

A mouse is getting into the bottom of the fridge probably through a hole on the lower right behind the crisper where a tube exits. What do you suggest?

. The best thing to use is square grid type chicken wire . Cut a piece which will cover the entire area where the holes are and use the existing screws that hold the rear cover on by removing a few of them and then securing them back onto the unit using washers under the screws and above the grid to hold the grid in place . The mouse needs water to live and is drinking the water in your defrost drain tray . It is important to solve this issue, as the mouse will actually chew through the plastic tray to get to the water to survive . If this happens , you'll see water leaking out from under the refrigerator every couple of days as a defrost cycle runs every six to eight hours . Also , if you have a ice maker or drinking water setup , mice will actually bite through the plastic water supply lines and cause some expensive repair work . Good luck

Unit powers up, fans run, no compressor start

If the fans run we know it aint the defrost timer and you are getting power to the compressor so that means you have a wire done burned off one of the compressor terminals hopefully or ya might need a compressor. Probably just a burnt wire. These are pretty tough units. Diagram and run info

Refrigerator will not restart after defrosting. A wiring diagram will be a big help.

Wiring diagrams are usually located in the kickplate, on the back of the refrigerator, in the compressor area, or next to the temperature controls.  It sounds like you either need a defrost timer or a defrost control board depending on which your refrigerator uses.  In either case most cost somewhere around $60

Kenmore elite 596 73503201 no cooling in top compartment

if the freezer is getting cold the problem is due to the cold air from the freezer not getting into the refrigerator. There are several things that can cause this problem. The coils in the freezer icing up and not defrosting properly is one of the things that can cause the refrigerator not to get cold enough. Another problem is the fan that blows the cold air from the freezer compartment into the refrigerator, not working. When the compressor is running open the refrigerator's door and push the switch that makes the light go out. You should hear the fan blowing the cold air from the freezer into the refrigerator, when this switch is pushed in. If the fan is working then you will need to find what is blocking the air flow. Iced up coils are a common problem. The icing problem can be due to a defective defrost timer or something defective in the defrost circuit. Click here for more information. Check for these problems and let me know what you have found.
