My computer was just clean and a cant play dvd and cant reprogram my printer back and i need a dvd decoder how can i repogram this 2 things back?

You can download vlc media player here, http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ I suggest this particular program because it will play anything from DVDs, music CDs, video discs, MP3s, MP4, AVI, basically anything.

As far as your printer goes, you need to download the drivers from the manufacturers website. You can look it online by printer model, or, if you prefer, send me the printer model and I will send a link back when I find the proper drivers. Once you run the software, follow the onscreen instructions.

I have a Dell laptop 4100, It has a cd-rw drive, plus a zip drive and a floppy drive, all interchangeable, I need a drive that will play a dvd and can be used to play game cd's, what do I need and where...

You need atleast a DVD-ROM drive. You can get a drive that burns DVD+r,-r,+rw,-rw. Either will be fine to play dvds. You can try newegg.com,tigerdirect.com,directron.com,geeks.com.

Media center does not play cds or dvds please help

You have to check your CD/DVD Rom to make sure the device is not faulty.

Open your Windows Explorer, insert any CD/DVD to see whether your CD/DVD is able to read the the disk.

If it cannot read the disk, most probably the CD/DVD rom is faulty and you have to replace it.

I cannot watch dvds on my windows xp only cds

I'd be sure it does accept DVD. The face plate on the CD/DVD drive typically have the logos printed or stamped on it of the supported formats. Look for the DVD logo. Following link shows example internal desktop drive. Logo in center of drawer is for DVD.

Also try other DVDs to be sure you didn't have a bad one.

DVD Rom

Make sure you have DVD playing software installed, such as Cyberlink Power DVD. The software would have come with your computer or DVD drive at the time of purchase. If you do not have specific DVD playing software, VideoLAN Player is a good free alternative, which you can download from http://www.videolan.org
