Yes, to a certain extent. You need to disconnect the cable from the wall and system, let it cool, and do what you can to get any dust or debris out of the vents on the brick. Reconnect everything and if you still have 3 red rings, you need to contact Microsoft for a repair, as you have a system failure.

Thanks for your question. To fix the 3 red lights what you will need to do is stop the heat getting to the GPU and the CPU and to do this you can use a good Xbox 360 Repair guide or of course you can send it in.

My console plays my games, but there is a full red ring? what does this mean?

OUCH! You have the red ring of death! Did you by chance have xbox on it's side for a long period of time instead of flat? If so, that's why. They say there made to do this, just like the old ps2's, It a load of ****. The laser lens circuit will need to be replaced. If you didn't have it on it's side, then you have a bad graphics chip, or cold solder joints, or the motherboard is shot.

I get a red light on my powerpack

i think that means that the connection between the power brick and the xbox isnt working, either your xbox needs repair or you need a new power brick, ask a friend with a 360 if you can borrow theirs and also their wires for the powerbrick and if it works then YOU need a new powerbrick and if it doesnt then your xbox is broken

I got three red rings and it wont read any discs

If you are experiencing this problem, you can submit a console-repair request online. However, before you submit your request, first try the following two steps to verify the problem:
  1. When you turn on the console, look at the light on the power supply. The power supply light should illuminate green even if the three lights on the Ring of Light flash red. If the power supply light is not green, please follow the steps in one of the following Microsoft Knowledge Base articles: 906101 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/906101/ ) Troubleshooting your Xbox 360 Power Supply when the light is red 906102 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/906102/ ) Troubleshooting your Xbox 360 Power Supply when the light is orange 906103 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/906103/ ) Troubleshooting your Xbox 360 Power Supply when the light is not illuminated
  2. Turn off the console. Wait 10 seconds, and then turn on the console again to see whether the problem re-occurs.

Additional support loadTOCNode(2, 'moreinformation'); If the steps in the previous section did not resolve your issue, your console may have to be repaired. Xbox 360 red ring

first of all, 3 red lights USUALLY means that you have an internal hardware error. microsoft has a garuntee that if your xbox DOES get the 3 red rings, you can send it in to them and get you xbox fixed or a totally brand new one for FREE. but before you do that, you should check ALL of the cords to make sure that they are plugged in right. there is a reported 33% of the Xbox 360 that were produced have a serious problem- once the motherboard reaches a certain temperature is bends, causing some solder balls to lose contact with the GPU and motherboard.
If there is anything that you want to be sure of before you take apart your XBOX 360 is assurance that what ever your going to do to it, is going to work!
just go to this website:
http://top3redlightfixes.com/XBOX3RedLights/xbox_360_3_red_lights.php?gclid=CIeBnJi1pJYCFQgRFQod0lsd7A

my friend used this site and got his xbox fixed in no time and he learned some suff too.

Xbox360 1 Red light, sometimes 2

there are two things that those light mean.
-the best solution is to VACCUM the dust out of the xbox before you get other problems. The collecting dust is making ur xbox overheat. So keep it clean before you get the 3 or 4 rings of death!
-also, take off that cooling system because the 360 works best without cooling fan.
-Finally, make sure your A/V cables are securely plugged in.
