I have yet to get this to work. Had Gateway send another one, still no luck. Doesn't recognize drive.

I have had the DVD Burners on my Gateway Notebook go bad (Slowed Down progressively) Started out at max speed when Ripping or Burning. Had same problem with my original Gateway and finally got Gateway to replace burners. Then finally entire Laptop. Went to a Gateway Tablet Notebook. Started out fine but now back to same problem. Example: 2hrs+ to encode and 1-1/2 hrs to burn. Used DVD Cloner and sometimes DVD Shrink 3.2. (Note: initially took less than 1/2 that time)

Finally decided to give up and purchase an Sony-Multiformat DVD-R/-RW/+R/+R DL/+RW Recorder with 1080p Upconversion-RDRGX360

Being somewht of a novice, I could use some step by steps to utilize the new Sony with or without my Gateway Notebook. ie: Hookups; etc.

As probably noticed the bulk of my DVD recording is to create a single backup to all the Purchased DVD's In m library.
