Washer won't drain water problem. Washer started and cycled only first part but no rinse and water still in washer.

  • tensecondtom Jul 11, 2008

I have a Frigidaire front loader -5 speed heavy duty.

ISSUE #1 -Not too long ago, we started noticing an odor coming from the laundry room whenever we put a load of wash in after a few days (maybe sitting water somewhere???).

ISSUE #2- Now the washer makes a loud buzzing noise during the rinse cycle (like an-end-of-a-basketball-game buzzer) and does not drain the water from the washer. Clothes soaking wet, water still in washer.

My most sincere gratitude to any assistance on this. Thanks.

My will start to cycle and then it will cease to spin. No grinding, no off balance noise-no spinning=no draining of water from tub/basin. Unplugged it for a full 4 minutes. Plugged it back in. Checked to see if washer was level-it wasn't. Made adjustments to ensure washer was level-EUREKA! washer finished cycle no problem. BOO-HISS! Two loads later, same issue as the first time-washer won't spin. Checked to see if washer was still level-it is, new issue-error coed E20 and all lights blinking. ANY suggestions?

Frigidaire washer model LAFW70000LWO leaking from bottom of washer

would suggest cleaning out the coin or filter trap to see if debris has clogged the drain lines. This may or may not be specifically for your model, however these are generics instructions that I found.

To check for a restriction in the drain line you will need to follow the steps below:

1. Unplug the washer

2. Pull the washer out to tilt it back so you can

reach the screws below the front panel and

remove it. (You will need something to catch

the water once the hose is removed from

the bottom of washer)

3. Loosen the bolt with the sliver clamp on the

bottom of the washer. The water will begin to

come out while your loosening the clamp. (Do

not remove any GREEN clamps)

4. Once the water is out, you can stick your hand

inside the hose to clean it out.

If any proves to be ineffective contact a professional so they can properly and accurately diagnose the unit for repairs. Unit could possibly have a damaged/cracked tub, a leak in the drain lines, or the water valve.

How do I access the drain pump on a Frigidaire Affinity front loading washer?

If you cant access it from the front You will have to tilt the machine back as far as safely possible to access the bottom of the machine. Locate the drain pump which will be at the bottom font or back corner and remove the hose that connects the pump to the tub, you will need to have a basin ready to catch any water. You most likely have a sock or something stuck. Hope this helps

SPIN CYCLE WON'T DRAIN WATER FROM TUB IT RUNS ONTO MY FLOOR

Sounds like you have a bad water pump. Remove the hose going into the water pump and coming out of the pump and the pump should pull directly off the shaft check to make sure it spins freely.

Washer fills up fine but doesn't start to wash...

if it doesn't agitate, spin, or even drain, then you most likely have a belt that is off. Of course, now that you have a washer full of water, it is going to be diffficult to tilt back and change the belt, so you might want to get a shop vac and **** the water out through the drain hose first.

With most of the water out, you should be able to tilt the machine back and see what went wrong. I believe on Frigidares the belt is underneath.
