Try a hard reset: unplug printer from pc and main power supply. Wait about 10-15 minutes and while holding down the power button, plug it back into the pc and power supply.

How do you manually feed legal paper into a HP laserjet 4 plus (model 2037A)? It only has a letter paper tray. I inherited it without a service manual

The LaserJet 4 plus I have worked with had a paper tray that was adjustable for letter or legal. If yours is not, there should be a door on the front of the printer that will pull down at the top, and is hinged on the bottom. Open the door, you will be able to extend the "paper tray" and put a small amount of legal sheets on it. Go to the menu and tell it to print to this paper tray, I believe it is paper tray one.

PROBLEM - OUT OF PAPER

If many people are waiting for printouts, and nothing is actually being printed, the printer may be out of paper; the printer will indicate this on its display. To load paper into the N4525 printer, simply pull out the tray #1 or #2 located at the bottom of the printer in the front, and put the paper in the bin. Put the tray back into the printer. To load paper into the N24 printer, locate the tray in the front of the printer. <br />Pull the tray out, and locate the bin indicated by the large arrow in the lower left-hand corner. This is the side where you put the paper. Then, push tray 4 back in to the printer<br />.Make sure you put the paper on the correct side of the tray. This is the most common error. There are usually diagrams on the inside of the trays indicating how to put in the paper.

Cannot clear error code 3523 for Kodak ESP 9200 Series all in one printer. Have followed all instructions per Kodak online

Had the same problem error 3523 that would not clear. Tried Kodak support with no results so took matters into my own hands.

Noticed the top tray seemed jammed into the printer. Tried pulling it out but it seemed locked. Flipped the printer over, removed 8 screws, 4 metal plates.

Removed bottom tray, set aside. Remove 3 screws for plastic bracket that holds top tray. Move bracket over, be careful not to damage wires. Remove top tray and reinstall so that it is in extended position. There is two notched in the side of the top tray. Extend so that catch is in back notch.

Reassemble everything in reverse order. Take care that the top tray does not slide into the printer when you turn the printer over. It did for me the first time that the tray jammed again.

Replug everything and startup the printer with top tray extended past bottom tray. The printer will tell you that top tray is jammed, push top tray flush with bottom tray.

Printer now works. Don't know why tray jams in the first place but this solution can keep you from scrapping printer or paying for service.

Very disappointed with Kodak printer. Obviously printers were not their core business and they paid a sub-contractor to build these products for them. My next printer will be an HP.

Even though my printer settings are set to print and use the paper in tray 1 - the printer wants to pull from the bypass tray (which always pulls crooked). The printer used to work just fine then the alert...

Two things to check for a problem like this:
1) Driver Settings:
If your computer's drivers are telling the machine to pull from the bypass tray it'll ignore the machine settings. You're kind of on your own here figuring it out, if you can't though then try deleting the printer from the computer and re-installing it (will default settings)

2) Manual Feed sensor:
When you put paper into the bypass try you're activating a flag which tells a sensor there's paper there, if this flag is stuck forcing the sensor to constantly think you have paper there it would always to pull from there. Find the flag, move it back and forth, hit it with some air from a can of air.

My magicolor 2200 keeps asking me to put paper in the mpt (multi purpose tray) when I'm printing form the bottom tray. The resulting print comes out slightly smeared and starts part way down the page. ...

ok seems like 1 of 2 things,,, firstly check your print settings and ensure your selecting the correct try to print from..

turn off machine

might be a stuck sensor, turn off machine look at where u load the paper, close to where the printer pulls it up, there is a small leaf swith there that tell the printer if it has or dont have paper, play ith the switch a bit.. Then turn back on and try again.

Hi, While loading paper I'm getting an alarm saying E2 though papers are present in the paper tray. I 've pulled the clip in the paper feeder to the left, kept the paper i.e. alligned it to the right of...

Does your printer have a paper tray on the bottom as well? If so there's a feed switch that tells your machine to use the tray or the rear feeder. There's also a small printer picture with a light that either is lit for the top or bottom feeder. To be safe, put paper in both trays.

E240 LEXMARK WON'T PULL PAPER FROM TRAY 2

Try pulling out the tray and looking for the feed rollers that pull the paper up into the printer. The 2 rollers should have rubber "shoes" on them (they look like thick black rubber bands). Remove these roller "shoes", turn them inside-out, and put them back on the rollers. This worked for me, maybe it will work for you too.
