Door will only close when held down

Got the Chamberlain Professional garage door opener model 41BD002-2 & have to hold down button to close it until it goes all the way down. Tried moving sensor with orange light & it still won't change. Any other suggestions?

I have the same issue. I am able to temporarily resolve it by slightly adjusting the sensors but the issue inevitably comes back - often the next time I try to close the garage.

In my case yes - if I obstruct the sensor it will trip the light on the drive unit but the door still won't close unless I hold down the button.

My stanley deluxe garage door opener suddently stopped. It only makes tik tik sound. What do i do?

You may look at the safety sensors. Try holding the wall button down. If the door operates with the button held down then it is the sensors. Try to align them to look at each other. If not you are probably looking at either replacing the sensors or the logic board. Thanks BB

My garage door opener doesnt close all the way.

The motor is probably either stalling because the door is too stiff, or you have a beam break detector that is being triggered when the door is halfway down.

If the door closes by holding the wall button you have a photo eye issue. Check your photo eyes for proper operation.
