Can't retrieve WEP code

Alright. I have a WPN824 v2 router, and i want to connect to WiFi on my Wii, but it says the connection is locked. It shows a little locked symbol when i test connection, and I can't find the WEP code to unlock it. I tried typing in 192.168.1.1 and 192.168.1.5 into the IP address, and it won't accept admin as the username and password as the password, which is what I was told to do. Please HELP!!

If the default username and password is not working, try your commonly use username and password coz there's a possibility that you already change it but if it still not working better reset the router.
To reset it juts press and hold teh reset button of the router using a pen then after that you need to reconfigure it back and you should be able to access the setup page of it using "admin" as the username and password.
Hope it helps..

Is there a fix to wii error code 50300 ?

The Wii console's internet connection settings are not correct. This could include your network name (SSID), WEP or WPA keys, or any manual settings you may have entered.
It's possible something has changed since you last connected online with your Wii console. Try setting up a new connection file, using your router's settings.
While "Search for an Access Point" is the easiest and recommended connection type, your network may require you to use the "Manual Setup" option.
If the problem persists, try our general troubleshooting for tips.

Have misplaced WEP key number is it possible to e-mail it to us.

Unless your Internet Service Provider set up the WEP key for you, there is no way anyone can email or retrieve your WEP.
If the person who set up the router cannot remember the WEP, you can do a hard reset on the router to allow you to connect and create a new WEP.
follow this link for instructions on how to hard reset your router: http://kb.netgear.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/991/~/wpn824-rangemax%E2%84%A2-wireless-router:-frequently-asked-questions
- After a hard reset, you can set up a new WEP and use it on all the devices that you connect to the internet wirelessly.

Cant remember what our netgear password is to connect to our wii

Usually it is on the back of the Netgear router. It should be next to "WEP Key" or similar.

If does not work you will need to call your Internet Service Provider.

Thank you

I cant get my ipod hooked up to my roter and wii

This is first assuming you are talking about an IPOD Touch. You first have to have wireless connectivity. Once you have wifi go to:

1. Touch Settings

2. Touch Wifi

3. Turn your Wifi ON

4. Select a Wifi network

5. Enter the WEP Key you have created on your router (assuming you have secured your network).

6. Hit Connect

Get Netgear 824 wifi working for all computers

I just got my Netgear 824 and I was able to connect to it with my pc and my wifi enabled phone but not with my ibook. Solution: when entering the WEP password enter a $, dollar sign, before the WEP password. I tried it and it worked like a charm.

Nintendo DS vs. ActionTec GT704WG

Your DS may need another connection that is only blocked with a red lock. (Meaning WEP code locked.) If so, phone a computer tech support to help you set a connection with Wifi (wireless connection) and ask him/ her to set it to WEP code and "blocked". Then ask them to temporarily leave while you set your WEP password. A grey lock means that your DS is not compatible to your access point.

Neatgear wireless router wpn824 v2

Windows, if that's what you're using, may be connecting to a different router than yours. Verify that you're connecting to your access point.

Also, make sure there is a good connection between the router and your cable or dsl modem.

Finally, you can try connecting your computer to the router using an ethernet cable. That will at least let you verify that the computer and router work together, and you can configure the router and so forth. If connecting with a wire succeeds, that narrows the problem down to the wireless network connection.

Here's the manual. Troubleshooting is near the end, but it doesn't look like your specific problem is listed...

WEP key recovery

Connect a computer to the router via Ethernet cable, then you should be able to log into the router to set it up by opening a web browser and putting "http://192.168.1.1/" or "http://192.168.0.1/" (without the quotes) into the address line. The default username and password is usually "admin" and "admin" or username "admin" with no password. From there you should be able to configure the router and retrieve or change the WEP key.

Let us know how you make out.

New computer hung at "Acquiring network address"

Hi,

Verify that the DHCP feature of the router is enabled. Alternately, you may want to set the PC to use static IP configurations rather than "Obtain an IP address automatically". Sometimes WinXP WiFi configuration messes connections when none WEP or WPA is used.

You may want to fix set your PC's WiFi config to IP Add:192.168.1.2; Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0 and Default Gateway: 192.168..1 (that is of course assuming that your NetGear RangeMax WPN824 Router uses the 192.168.0.1 IP add).

If this still does not work, pls post back so we can figure out tricking the WinXP WiFGi config to connect.

Hope this be of some help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.
