Question about Televison & Video

I HAVE PROGRAMS RECORDED ON MY DVR THAT IN THE PAST HAVE BEEN ABLE TO BE TRANSFERRED TO VIDEO. THIS QUIT WORKING, SO I PURCHASED ANOTHER VIDEO MACHINE, THINKING THE VIDEO MACHINE WAS BAD. NOW, I CAN GET THE VIDEO PORTION TO RECORD, BUT NOT THE SOUND, AND VICEVERSA. I BELIEVE THAT I NEED A CONNECTION DIAGRAM MANUAL OR ANOTHER DVR BOX. I WAS TOLD BY VERIZON THAT I WOULD LOSE ALL THE RECORDED INFO IF I SWITCH BOXES. HOW CAN I GET A MANUAL FOR THIS BOX TO BE SURE?

It would help if we would have known how have you connected the dvr, with what cables and in what ports. But it appears that you have plugged the cables wrongly - look at them: not only do they have to be matched in colours but they have to be together in the same printed/ raised plastic line box..
Actually you would lose them only if you would get rid of it - the recorded shows are still there, in the hard disk. As a last resort you can just take the hard disk out of the dvr, put it in an external case and plug the case in a pc - it will appear as just another external hard drive and all the stuff will be directly accessible and viewable with a good media player like VLC.
The manual should be available at Verizon - ask them how and from whom you can get one.

How can i transfer programs from a dvr to my dvd recorder?

No, most DVRs do not allow copies to be made to disk, etc.. Some like Dish, do allow you copy to an external hard drive for back up storage and viewing through the DVR.
You need to check with the mfg. of your DVR or service provider.

We recently connected to Direct TV...I want to transfer some old western TV Shows I recorded on my Direct TV DVR Recorder to VCR Tape. I was told by the people at Direct TV that I would need to contact you...

You can try this: Connect your DirecTv to VCR with Red/White/Yellow cables. Then the VCR to your TV with the same type of cables. Make sure the VCR is set to the video input, not the tuner. Turn your TV to the correct video input. Get the program ready on the DVR as if you were going to watch it. Press record on the VCR and then play on the DVR. At the end of the program, press stop on both. You may have a problem with the video recording properly. Some stations broadcast with copyright protection.

What is the correct connections from the DVR to my DVD recorder so I can transfer recordings from my playlist to a DVD?

You should have RCA inputs on the DVD that are yellow, red, and white. The yellow for video, the red and white for stereo audio. All you have to do is have the video out from the DVR connected to the input of the DVD and then you should be able to record.

I want to copy the programs recorded on my dvr 510.

According to engineering aspects of the 510 it is not designed to allow the recordings to be transferred. The only option you have is the option you mentioned or purchasing the 510 and having it incorporated into the new system so you can access them. I am sorry I did not have any better news for you. Thanks for using Fix Ya and if you need further assistance please let me know.

DVR to Archos

Hi,

That's what the DVR does. All you need to do is play whatever program you would like on your cablebox/DVR and hit record on your archos. It will record it like any program.
