Question about JVC Televison & Video

1 Answer

I have a 48 inch JVC rear projection TV that is about 6 1/2 years old. It has been a very good set. However, about a year ago I noticed that it has "imprinted" a cable channel logo in the top corner along with a grid line image from the top to the bottom of the screen. Is there any way of getting rid of the image such as replacing a bulb(s). thanks Fred

You have burnt the logo in to the tubes and will need to replace all 3 tubes.

Guns or CRT are probably ok. Your TV needs a convergence IC STK392-120 replacement. Lamp are used on LCD and DLP rear projection TV's. Color wheel are for DLP's. :)

I have a sony 50 in rear projection. 9 years old

Sounds like the CRT tubes are going out which is fairly common on Sony. Inside the back of the TV there are 6 knobs - 2 for each color...one is for focus - dont touch - the other for brightness...turn down the brightness just a hair untill the lines go away.

Double vision on tv with purple and green colors

Hello,

This television set, as well as most rear-projections, is prone to convergence driver problems. There are two large chips (STK392-110's) in the TV that need to be replaced, as well as some resistors that are likely damaged as well. Any competent TV repair shops should be able to repair this TV for 200-300 dollars. It is important to note that if the back of the TV is taken off without the proper prep., the Digital input (DVI) will be disabled permanently.

Hope this helps you...

No sound on JVC AV-48P575 48 inch rear projection TV

Try going into the menu and find something called, "center channel input." If it is on, the sound will not work. Turn it off, and the sound should be restored.

No picture on tv screen

When you say no picture, is there any sound or noise coming from rear of set when you try to turn on. If so then you have no high voltage and maybe a cap in the HV line that is bad. If no sound at all, then maybe a fuse or open resistor in powersupply.
