Well I could not understand what you meant by circle with Z inside it. Can you tell me which on of them is it, from the image at the link below?

Well the Z-light just means that the system is on. Do you hear it starting up?

Its a problem with your memory modules. are you willing to open it up and re-seat them?

OK lets see. Before you begin be sure to touch a grounded metal for a few seconds to discharge any ESD present in your hands. ESD is electronics' worst enemy. Next up close the lid and turn the laptop over. You will see a small plate kind of thing with screws. Remove the screws and then remove the cover. You will see the Ram modules, 2 of them 1GB each. Carefully remove both of them. Put one back in and see if it boots, then try the other. The beeps are due to dislocated modules but in some cases damaged modules. If re-seating them does not resolve the issue then its time for new RAM modules. The design flaws in some thinkpads cause them to die very soon.

So you read what that says right? Its either the LCD assembly or system board and may be even DIMM(unlikely as you have replaced it just a couple of months ago). Time to get it serviced by IBM? I think so.

Try turning off the laptop, unplugging it, pulling out the battery and holding power down for 30-60 seconds. After that's done, put the battery back in, plug it back in, and turn it on.

It will not turn on

1.Check the device's battery level for at least two bars of strength.
2.If the battery level is low, charge the battery.
3.If the issue is not resolved, remove the back cover.
4.Remove the battery.
5.Wait 10 seconds.
6.Press and hold the W key.
7.While pressing down the W key, re-insert the battery.
•The device restarts and after approximately 15 seconds, the 'Recovery' screen appears
•Release the power button but *continue holding the home button*, for another 30 seconds.

Try to turn Dell Inspiron 6000 laptop and nothing happens. No lights, no sounds, nothing. Power chord is good and has output voltage of 19.5.

remove battery and then insert power cord and power it up. if it powers, then insert battery while laptop is on. otherwise, if it doesnt, get the battery charged from else where and insert it just to confirm that the power supply unit isnt spoilt.

Power supply

I think your problem is not with the power supply, its the hdd or memory thats causing the problem. try to check the cables, and re insert the memory then start up your pc again.

remove the SD Card and the batteries. Wait for half an hour and then insert two new batteries. Do not put the SD card in as yet. (Waiting for half an hour or more allows the camera to reset itself).

Now try switching on and good luck.
