Question about Samsung HL-P5063W 50" Rear Projection HDTV
The other night there was a thunderstorm, so I unplugged the TV. After I plugged it back in and turned it on, the screen was predominantly green and constantly flashing. There are also 5 vertical stripes running down the screen that are purple and green. It looks this way on all regular channels and on the DVD player. The HD channels have little green or purple squares flashing all across the screen, but the picture is otherwise normal. The menu and the TV Guide screens are not affected. Also, the TV will periodically freeze up and shut itself off and then turn back on again. I've tried unplugging it again, leaving it off for awhile, leaving it on for awhile, but nothing has made any impact. Any ideas?
If this doesn't fix your problem, it may be the lamp. I experienced the same sequence minus thunderstorm, but it got to where it went from green verticals to just cycling on and of 5-6 times. New lamp did the trick.

Thank you!!!! Our power was off due to new transformers being installed in the area and we had no clue how to fix this. I called around and no one seemed to know the answer (not even Samsung, who only wanted to tell me my TWO year old tv was out of warranty),so I tried this and it worked perfectly!!! You saved me a bundle! Thanks!
