I just replaced the lamp an my WD 52525 TV and when I turned it on all that shows up on my screen is a pattern of small black and gray boxes. The sound works find and I am able to change channels but nothing comes up on the screen but the box pattern. I have called around and no one seems to have an idea what is wrong. Any ideas would be helpful.

This is a issue with the DMD board it is not using the colors properly. This part runs around $200 plus you might need to pay for installing. When a color wheel is bad you will have different symptoms. I hope this helps :)
This DLP tv model don't have a colors wheel.U hear alot of clickings sound, when power turn on?The Ballast board it dead. This board, job to help projection lamp to ignite.Tries websites like Partstore.com,Ebay.com to buy the Ballast board for the replacement.
We have runn in to this with this type lamp, And we are a service center so we do hundreds of these. We too have had bad lamps straight from the box so best guess would to take the lamp back Mitshubishi will warenty the lamp for 90 days so act fast
Could be something as simple as a defective lamp to a more complex problem related to video display or mirror/color wheel problems. Check other inputs (DVD, etc) first to be sure the problem is consistent across all input types. Have you tried "resetting' the tv or plugging it out. then wait. then plug back in and go thru setup again.
Turn on the set and let it shut down. push in the Menu and Device (or input, I don't have a schematic in front of me) buttons on the front of the set at the same time and hold until the green light starts flashing. Then release.
There will be two different sets of flashes, such as, 3 and 6. The code 12 means the set is opperating fine. The other codes will tell you what part of the set needs repaired.
Also, remove the bulb and check the ballast connection to the bulb. I find the connection for the bulb bent over when a customer replaces the lamp sometimes.
Let me know what you find and we can go from there.
